Destiny: Survey on the best exotic weapons provides Infernal Trio

In the MMO shooter Destiny , players were asked about their favorite exotic weapons for every occasion. The usual suspects made it to the podium.

In January, there were large surveys about the favorite exotic weapons of the Guardians. The surveys were massive, with 16,000 players voting: the results were weighted, distinguishing between PvP and PvE , someone really put effort into it.

This time, the survey is significantly more relaxed and shows a snapshot of opinions. Almost 2000 Guardians were simply asked about their favorite exotic weapons for every occasion, only distinguishing by weapon type.

The most popular primary weapon is only for PlayStation players

Among the exotic primary weapons, the Hawkmoon comes in first. The PlayStation-exclusive hand cannon outperformed the Red Death and the Thorn. Interestingly, the once-popular “Suros Regime” only landed in 9th place, probably because it cannot convince in PvE.

It’s interesting that the weapons are relatively close together. The Hawkmoon only has a little over 20% of the votes. In total, 7 weapons have their fans: Besides the 3 favorites, the MIDA Multi-Tool, The Last Word, Bad Karma, and Vex Mythoclast are in the relevant voting range.

Uncontested victory in special weapons

In special weapons, the Guardians favor the Icebreaker. With a landslide victory, it takes the title, with about 80% making their mark here. In 2nd place, the patience and time fall behind, and in 3rd place surprisingly, the Complaint. However, the survey came before the last patch; today, perhaps the 4th Horseman would be further ahead.

We shouldn’t actually name the winner among heavy weapons

There are no surprises with the heavy weapons either. Naturally, the Gjallarhorn takes the title. 70% of the Guardians would choose the rocket launcher whose name we shouldn’t mention if they were to grab an exotic heavy weapon. In 2nd place, the Thunderlord, and in 3rd place the Extremely Good Advice.

It seems that the balancing of the exotic weapons is really only open with the primary weapons. In the case of special weapons and heavy weapons, there are clear fan favorites.
