In Destiny, it is possible to obtain old vendor items from “The Taken King” and “House of Wolves”. How?
Currently, there is a “glitch” circulating on YouTube that can reverse time: This allows vendors in the Tower to offer items from TTK or HoW times again. If you have only been involved since “Rise of Iron” or want to browse the old vendor offerings again, this trick should allow you to purchase items like the Iron Sledge directly from the Crucible Quartermaster.
The prerequisite is that you own the original Destiny disc. It does not work with the digital version or a newer disc. Furthermore, the glitch has only been confirmed on Xbox, and there is no guide for PS4.
Here’s how
On Xbox, close the game, select Destiny, and then press “Manage Game”. You will see the DLCs displayed there. Now delete “Rise of Iron” to see the TTK inventory. Also delete the TTK DLC to see the “House of Wolves” inventory.
Now start Destiny as usual, run to the vendors, and buy the desired items for Legendary Marks. When you reinstall the deleted DLCs, the purchased items should still be in your inventory.
By the way: Not only the vendor inventory is reversed in this way. The items you receive from faction packages or from engrams are also “old” items.
Whether you want to reverse time is entirely up to you. It only works with the original Xbox Destiny disc. There is no way to delete the DLCs individually on PS4.
The Iron Sledge was one of the most significant weapons in Year 2 of Destiny. What other weapons characterized “The Taken King”, you can read in the given link. Or you can look back even further: These are the most important weapons from the first year of Destiny.
