In the MMO shooter Destiny , Bungie has introduced changes to the upcoming Iron Banner event. The Iron Banner will no longer be the same. Players who prefer PvP will now be able to find legendary armor pieces outside of the raid, which can be upgraded to a light level of 30.
In the most recent Weekly Update, which was released on the night from Friday to Saturday, Bungie detailed the planned changes to the Iron Banner event. However, they have not yet announced when it will return. Changes to the PvE event “Queen’s Wrath” have also been announced, which is still in the works.
The Iron Banner was completed in early October and received a lot of criticism from fans. There were complaints about too weak rewards, the lack of incentive to finish a supposedly lost match, and the low advantage that the gear provided. All this feedback has been heard by Destiny and solutions have been devised.
Even without a raid, there will soon be 30-level gear in Destiny
- Loot: Lord Saladin will have armor that can be upgraded to a light level of 30 next time. However, only for two armor slots. Until now, only exotic armor pieces (of which you can wear only one) and legendary items from the raid could be upgraded to the maximum value of 30. A player must wear 4 pieces of armor with this value to reach a light level of 120. Then they reach the coveted light level 30, the max level in Destiny. They plan to increase the weapon drops from 2 to 4.
Gear matters and losing is worthwhile
- Gear matters: In the next Iron Banner, gear will play a significantly larger role than last time. They were too cautious before. In the next Iron Banner in Destiny, only level 20 players will be allowed. Lower-level players can stick to a fireleader to sneak in.
- Losing is worthwhile: At the end of a lost match, losers will receive a medal. In the next victory in Destiny’s Iron Banner, these medals will be redeemed. Each of these medals will be worth almost as much as a victory.
Easier bounties, more for farming
- Bounties will be easier: The bounties, an important incentive for participation, will remain but will be somewhat friendlier.
- Weapons can be reforged: The four Iron Banner weapons could be “reforged” by Lord Saladin. This will re-roll all upgrades on the weapons. This also applies to Iron Banner weapons already acquired. However, all progress will be lost in the process.
- Up to Rank 5: The Iron Banner will be increased up to reputation rank 5. There will be a reputation bonus to help players gain reputation, even if they can only join the event late.
All these changes, it is stated by Destiny, are still provisional and could change.
