In Destiny, Aksis is the new raid challenge of “Wrath of the Machine”. What must be done to get additional loot?
On 11/8 at 10 AM, the Challenge Mode of Aksis in the “Wrath of the Machine” raid started for the first time. This raid includes a total of 2 challenges, where you can grab extra loot weekly. We already introduced how to handle the first raid boss named Vosik in the raid challenge in the provided link.
Shortly after the launch of the Aksis challenge, it could be set up to drop additional loot. The mechanics are described as “simple”. Let’s take a look at them.
How Aksis Works in Challenge Mode
Aksis consists of two encounters, with only the second encounter being decisive for the raid challenge. You can play the first encounter as usual. You can read about the mechanics in our “Wrath of the Machine” guide.
To master the Aksis challenge, only one requirement needs to be fulfilled in the second encounter:
- During the DPS phases, a “Supercharge” must occur after each teleport.
The Supercharge mechanic is already in the game since the raid’s launch, but it is not strictly necessary for a successful completion, which is why many guardians are not familiar with it. Here’s a brief explanation:
- The Servitors go to three platforms. These three platforms are crucial. One of these platforms is marked with red light after each Aksis teleport:
- To activate Supercharge, an empowered guardian goes to the platform and presses the appropriate button. Of course, it must be one of the empowered guardians who does not have to stun Aksis at that moment.
- The red glowing platform is always one of the two platforms to which Aksis does not teleport. Example: If he teleports to the center, the Supercharge platform is either to the left or right.
And here’s how the challenge goes step by step:
- The start proceeds as always: The Shanks arrive, the Captains arrive, you kill the Captains, and three guardians from your fire team become empowered. They spread out left, middle, and right.
- You grab the cannons, destroy the Servitors, and throw the bombs.
- Now speed, communication, and good positioning are required: Throw the last bomb so that Aksis teleports. Quickly activate the Supercharge, before an empowered guardian attacks Aksis and stuns him. The message “Guardian Overload” appears at the bottom left of the screen. Now you stun Aksis and deal damage to him.
- You do this after every teleport until Aksis is defeated.
The mechanics themselves are not so difficult. The challenge basically lies in positioning well and communicating with each other.
Note: As soon as you miss a Supercharge after a teleport, the challenge is lost. As soon as you miss a stun on Aksis, the challenge is lost.
By the way: The challenge can be attempted in both normal and heroic mode.
