In the MMO shooter Destiny , images of a new sword are causing a hype.
How everything is the same. In the run-up to “The Taken King,” mere hints that there might be a sword always created a stir. Impressions of the sword were glimpsed in streams, either in the corner of the screen or in the background, while the Bungie folks did their best to ignore it. Until, in the last Twitch stream, the new “heavy weapons” class was revealed.
Since then, swords have become fan favorites. There are relatively few of them, which can then be upgraded to exotic weapons. The swords are tied to a relatively lengthy quest.
Currently, streams about new content are happening again, which is supposed to come in April. However, there has not yet been much talk about the weapons and armor that will be available. They have already been seen – new weapons, glow effects, and supposed shaders appear in the promo images that Bungie sent to the press for the stream.
Again, a “new sword” is being hotly debated, which can be seen at the top of the title image. The community has dubbed it the “Taken Sword” or “Sword of the Taken.” This is currently a bigger topic than the “Taken Shader,” a new Taken shotgun that has also been discovered, or the glow that seems to be emanating from some guardians in the promo images.
Whether a new sword is coming to Destiny and whether it will also be linked to an exotic quest or if it is a “normal legendary drop” will probably be revealed on Wednesday. The next live stream is set to be exciting.
The Destiny player base has always had a penchant for new weapons and toys. Let’s see if Bungie can offer new fodder here. All exotic swords came with interesting effects. In the worst case, it could be that the “Taken Sword” is merely a cosmetic appearance or an item that ultimately only serves as “infusion material.”
