Did you know that in Destiny the shields of the Cabal indicate how much health the Phalanx has left? Here are 20 things you might not have noticed.
Many Guardians have spent hundreds or even thousands of hours in the MMO shooter Destiny. Every area in the Destiny universe has been explored, every enemy defeated, every secret uncovered.
Nevertheless, there are some details that can be overlooked in the daily Destiny life that might surprise you when pointed out. On Reddit, user ZarathustraEck did just that: they created a list of things that many of you might not have noticed.
I’ve never consciously seen the Phalanx shields…
The shields of the Cabal Phalanxes show the damage the Phalanx takes. When the Phalanx has low health, the shield looks damaged and the lights flicker:
On the right, a solid shield, on the left, it is already heavily damaged
Vex Mythoclast: When you run out of ammo, the lights on the weapon dim. They go completely out when the ammo is empty. When you reload, the lights come back on.
When on the PS4 your Super is charged, the controller’s light bar glows yellow.
Atheon: The left and the right portal do not represent Mars and Venus. Rather: the left represents the past, before Venus was transformed, the right represents the future.
The Taken King: In the beginning of this strike, the Screebs do not open unless you jump or shoot. If you just run down the path on the right, they stay closed.
The Echo Chamber: In this strike, there is a cave in the area of Endless Steps where Fallen are bending over a pile of Vex parts. The purpose of this is unclear.
Arc Blade: The Blade Dancer has only one blade when he activates the Super. However, the perk symbol “Hungry Blade” depicts two blades.
Revolverslinger: The light sensor mines have pulsating light cones in different colors that indicate whether these mines are from allies or enemies. Red means hostile, white means no danger.
Omnigul: Omnigul is not an Ultra enemy, but a Major enemy. This allows her to be blinded and disoriented with grenades and perks (like Curse of the Light, which confuses Hive Witches). She is susceptible to disorientation and crowd control.
Celestial Nighthawk: With this exotic Hunter helmet, the eyes glow when you aim with the weapon. This is only visible to other players.
Mask of the Third Man: With this exotic Hunter helmet, the three eyes glow in different colors – depending on whether the Guardian is male or female.
Fallen Walker: If you destroy the left front leg of the Walker, it stays down longer than when hitting the other legs.
Grave Ships: The cannons on Hive ships can be destroyed. This way, the ships can no longer shoot at you.
Splicer Vandal: The weak point on these enemies is not the head, but rather the neck. If you hit the upper part of the head, there is no precise kill.
Warlock Bond: Many of the bonds sold by the Speaker change color throughout the in-game day.
Venus: In many areas of Venus, it rains. Look up, drops form “on the screen”. For example, drive a few meters to the right along the path from the patrol spawn point. It rains there.
Exotic Swords: You can use these to block incoming damage. The block is weaker against damage that has the same element as the sword.
Xur: When Xur has arrived, you will find markers in the Tower that indicate this.
Space Shuttle: There is an old-school space shuttle on the Crucible map.
And an important note that, according to user comments, many Guardians do not know: When playing Control, do not just defeat enemies but also capture zones.
