The upcoming update 1.2.3 adds some new features to Destiny 2 in July. There will also be significant changes in the raid. Additionally, the maximum power level will increase to 400. These are the changes.

The Destiny 2 Update 1.2.3 will be released on July 17, 2018, bringing the prestige versions for the two raid wings, World Eater and Star Conflux, among other things. Furthermore, there will be new activity modifiers and a new loadout system in the prestige raid wings, designed to provide additional challenge. Additionally, players will already be able to acquire the first items with the new power level cap of 400.
What’s changing in the raid with update 1.2.3
With the July update, Bungie is adjusting the rewards and introducing new mechanics for the raid.
The Loot
Weapons at power level 400: The only way to obtain weapons at power level 400 before the Forsaken expansion launches will be to complete the raid wings World Eater or Star Conflux on prestige.
If all encounters in a prestige raid wing are completed during the week, players will be rewarded with a 400 power raid weapon. This can be any raid weapon from Destiny 2 – not just those from the raid wing.
By the way: Armor pieces at power level 400 will only be available prior to Forsaken as part of the Solstice event, which begins at the end of July. The raid only offers weapons at the new max power level.
Raid Armor Ornaments: Each prestige raid wing will have its own unique armor ornaments.

Exotic Masterwork Catalysts: Both raid wings will feature Masterwork Catalysts that can be obtained as rare drops.
The Mechanics
To provide more challenge, there will be a curated weapon selection (Curated Weapon Suite) and a global activity modifier for the two raid wings each week. Both the weapon set and the modifier will remain the same for both activities.
Weapon Loadouts: Curated weapon loadouts are based on weapon archetypes. For example, a setup may consist of auto rifle/SMG/sniper rifle or scout rifle/hand cannon/rocket launcher.
The loadouts themselves are not locked within the prestige raid wing. You can swap weapons within the set parameters as long as the required composition is fulfilled.
The Modifiers: There will be three activity modifiers that rotate in the wings. Two of these modifiers are brand new, and the third is Prisma (elemental damage rotates). Each of these modifiers aims to give guardians advantages over their enemies.
Important Questions
Bungie also addressed potential questions from fans regarding the upcoming changes.
Will anything happen with the prestige version of the “Leviathan” raid? No. The prestige Leviathan remains unchanged. The weapon curation and modifiers will only be active in the two raid wings. However, it may be worth giving Calus a prestige visit, as the Masterwork Catalyst for the Legend of Acrius can drop in the prestige Leviathan raid.
Are there any encounter changes in the prestige raid wings? No!
How many prestige raid activities will there be each week? All three prestige raids will be active each week.
When will the prestige raid wings be playable? Currently planned to be available once the Update 1.2.3 goes live, starting on July 17, 2018.
What do you think of these changes to the raid? Do they bring you additional variety and challenge?
