As part of the Forsaken expansion of Destiny 2, you will hunt down the 8 Barons starting in September. Bungie has now revealed detailed information about the leaders of the Scorn. Here is your kill list for the upcoming fall.
At the start of the Forsaken campaign, Uldren Sov murders the beloved leader of the Hunter Vanguard – Cayde-6. Thus, the Awakened Prince takes on the role of the main antagonist in the upcoming fall expansion, whom you are meant to relentlessly hunt down and take out.
However, Prince Uldren did not act alone. He was actively supported by a group of powerful Scorn enemies – the eight Barons. To get to the murderer of Cayde, you will first have to take out these leaders of the Scorn.
Each of them has their own story, characteristics, and an individual boss fight. In an exclusive Game Informer article, Bungie has now presented the eight Barons in detail.

Who are the eight Barons? The Barons were once simple outcasts who were banished from House of Exile. Shunned and abandoned by their own Eliksni comrades, they have since had to rely on each other. And thanks to their cunning, ruthlessness, and solidarity, they survived.
They plundered camps of their once Fallen brothers, stole Ether, and became stronger. After the Taken War, they raided outposts of the Awakened, overwhelmed other gangs of Fallen and looters, and eventually became the greatest plague of the Reef. The once flourishing home of the Awakened increasingly turned into a lawless frontier.
Cayde put them behind bars: After the Red War, our battle with Ghaul and his followers from the main campaign of Destiny 2, the infamous Cayde-6 and his confidants helped the regent-commander of the post-war reef, Petra Venj, to cleanse the reef of the Barons and other scum.
In an unforgettable confrontation, the Barons were finally defeated. Most were killed. However, seven of the original eight were captured and placed in the deepest, darkest cells of the Prison of Elders.
But one was never found: As no mortal remains were found, no one knew at the time what had become of the heretical war-priest “The Fanatic”.
The Fanatic
“Death is your shield… but the sword for the Scorn”
Real Name: Fikrul
Aliases: The Fanatic; Fikrul, Master of Souls; Fikrul, Shadow Priest
Race: Fallen Archon (male)
Background: Leader of the Barons and the Scorn. Reports only to Prince Uldren. Sees the Scorn as the ultimate evolution of the Fallen
History: Once a famous Archon Priest, The Fanatic preached heresy among the Eliksni, who worship a machine god, and paid a high price for it. Initially banished, he was rarely able to obtain the Ether important to the Fallen.
After he allied with the Barons and became their war priest, he continued his anti-machine god evangelism and instilled in the minds of his brothers and sisters the conviction that the old Eliksni had to ultimately die so that the Barons could become better, stronger, and above all, exist forever.
Status: Wanted. Fragmentary reports exist about a lone nomadic Archon priest surrounded by a power like that found in and around the European Dead Zone. Do not engage until his full power potential is known.

The Machinist
“We are all thieves. Some are just better at it.”
Real Name: Elykris
Aliases: The Machinist; Scourge of Solis Descent; Elykris the Bandit
Race: Fallen Baroness (female)
Background: Second in command behind The Fanatic. Expert in ammunition and weapon manufacturing. Responsible for the siege of [REDACTED]. Insatiable thief and hoarder with a fearsome arsenal.
History: She started her life with nothing. Since then, she has hoarded just about everything she has ever managed to get her hands on (except what she shares with the other Barons). She is second in the command chain and moves around the areas near Mars and Jupiter. She raids ships and camps, making off with all usable weapons.
Status: Wanted. Munitions master of the Barons. She is a true plague for any ship that leaves Earth. An extraordinary bounty is placed on her for her role in the siege of Arran and for the robbery during the aftermath of Solis Descent.
The Mindbender
*Incomprehensible mumbling. Possibly Hive language*
Real Name: Hiraks
Aliases: The Mindbender; Hiraks the Brain; Hiraks Ascendant
Race: Fallen Baron (male)
Background: A mad genius who turned to the Hive and their dark religion through his research. Somehow, he found a way to exert control over Hive fighters.
History: As a small, starving outcast, Mindbender fell into the Hellmouth on the Moon. Since then, he has not spoken a single comprehensible word. But his time with the Hive has changed him and bestowed upon him a lifelong obsession. After years of study, he found a way to create his own Throne World in the Ascendant Realm, the Hive’s sword world.
Status: Wanted. Very little is known about Mindbender. But he has the reputation of breaking the minds of his enemies. Recent reports indicate a strong Hive obsession.

The Trickster
“Where most see war, I see an opportunity – for laughter.”
Real Name: Araskes
Aliases: Araskes the Wit; Butcher of Bamberga; Slayer of the Psyche Hordes; Terminus of the Gray Legion
Race: Fallen Baroness (female)
Background: A silver-tongued manipulator with a high opinion of herself. Has a penchant for deadly tricks and prefers to operate from the shadows during Baron operations. She does everything to stay out of sight and is known to charm others into doing her dirty work.
History: When the Barons need to haggle or negotiate (which almost never happens), they send Trickster. She is their poet, their go-between, their envoy. Her world is like a constantly changing chessboard. She tries to overshadow her reality as a coward lacking in combat skills. Where others sharpened their combat prowess, she sharpened her mind.
Status: Wanted. There is a reason why we know so little about Araskes – the Butcher of Bamberga, also known as the Slayer of the Psyche Hordes or Terminus of the Gray Legion – and why none of these crimes were ever officially reported. She uses stealth abilities to remain unseen and leaves deadly surprises where her victims least expect them.

The Hangman

Real Name: Reksis Vahn
Aliases: The Hangman; Reksis the Scathe; The Godslayer
Race: Fallen Baron (male)
Background: A silent sadist known for his preference for tearing Ether generators out of Servitor cores with his bare hands. His obsession with Servitor torture is utterly unprecedented in the history of the Eliksni.
History: No one knows why Hangman was cast out at birth. Some claim his parents looked into his eyes and immediately knew what he would become. Others say it was this cruel act that sealed his fate. Hangman does not just kill his victims – he tortures them. He harbors a particular hatred for Servitors, who in the Fallen hierarchy decide who eats and who does not. His physical rejection of Eliksni tradition ultimately brought him into Fanatic’s inner circle – but whether out of belief or for further sadistic acts remains to be seen.
Status: Wanted. Reports describe this Baron as a depraved executioner. He lurks around Servitors and drains their Ether to keep his comrades overfed and furious.

The Mad Bomber
“Yahahahehheheheehhehehaha!!”
Real Name: Kaniks
Aliases: The Mad Bomber; Kaniks Two-Fingers; Kaniks the Detonator
Race: Fallen Baron (male)
Background: A bombastic adrenaline junkie for whom the word self-preservation is foreign. Has no problem blowing entire areas sky high just to kill his target.
History: No one knows where the Mad Bomber came from or how he got here – not even he himself. For the Mad Bomber now lives from day to day, bomb to bomb, always in search of more adrenaline and a nice explosion. His mind has probably suffered from one too many explosions.
Status: Wanted. All reports of Baron activities indicate a high number of massive, localized explosives. It is suspected that this is the work of the one they call the Mad Bomber. Always be aware of your surroundings and prepare for defusals.

The Rifleman
“I see you…”
Real Name: Pirrha
Aliases: The Rifleman; Pirrha the Phantom; Pirrha the Blind
Race: Fallen Baron (male)
Background: A far-seeing sniper who has the backs of his brothers and sisters. The Rifleman keeps his targets at a distance, plays a dirty game, and never misses a shot. Brilliant, cold-blooded, and patient. Far more than one of Rifleman’s carvings represents the spirit of a Guardian.
History: Since the Barons banded together, no one has managed to surprise them. This is largely due to the cybernetic eye of the Rifleman, which always keeps watch over them. When he is not chasing shadows, he roams the hills that he declares his territory at will. Cross the line and you are as good as dead. No matter where you hide, his bullet will find you – be you Guardian or not.
Status: Wanted. A sniper, contract killer, and original member of the Barons. Legends of his amassed wealth have led numerous bounty hunters to challenge him – only to end up with a bullet between their eyes. Death can catch you at any time and from any direction against the Rifleman.

The Rider
“Don’t be afraid to die by our Mosquitos. Be more afraid to survive.”
Real Name: Yaviks
Aliases: The Rider, Yaviks the Hoss; Yaviks the Untamed
Race: Fallen Baroness (female)
Background: Anarchistic biker. Leader of her own gang of Fallen Mosquitos. Levels everything to the ground and pollutes the air wherever she and her gang strike. She is a fabulous mechanic who has taken a heavy Fallen Mosquito and greatly improved it.
History: The Rider’s loyal gang consists of remnants of older houses and lone wolves. She gave them a Mosquito and a purpose. In return, every member is willing to fight and die for their fearless leader. For years, Rider’s gang has been a true plague of the asteroid belt. Any hint of order and hierarchy fell victim to her and the gang. She breathes nihilism and spreads anarchy.
Status: Wanted. Every step of the Barons begins and ends with Rider. With her pack of toxic Mosquitos, she brings a storm of dust and chaos over her enemies that few survive. And if they do, she and her crew do not shy away from returning to finish the job.
