In Destiny 2 Season 10 brings major changes. We present to you 5 auto rifles with which you can make a big impact in the altered PvP.
What’s happening with auto rifles? The next season in Destiny 2 starts soon. The big winners of the balance adjustments will likely be the auto rifles in PvP.
Two types of auto rifles, the 600 RPM and the 720 RPM, will particularly benefit from the planned improvements. A small warning: Prepare for a number salad.
Auto Rifles with Adaptive Frame (600 RPM):
- These will cause 15.75 body damage and 25.2 critical damage in the next season (previously 13.75/22)
- This corresponds to an optimal TTK (Time to Kill) of 0.7 seconds (previously 0.8 seconds)
- Even if you only land body shots, you have a strong TTK of 1.2 seconds.
Auto Rifles with Rapid-Fire Frame (720 RPM):
- In Season 10, a body shot deals 13.5 and a headshot deals 20.1 damage (previously 12.5 / 18.75)
- This gives you an optimal TTK of 0.77 seconds (previously 0.83)
- If you only hit the body, the TTK is an excellent 1.17 seconds.
For comparison, the kill times of a few other weapons:
- The popular 180 RPM hand cannons have an optimal TTK of exactly one second.
- 150 RPM hand cannons ideally require 0.8 seconds
- Aggressive Scouts, like the Jade Rabbit, also require 0.8 seconds
Other weapon types benefit greatly from firing from cover. Due to the changes, auto rifles will become significantly more dangerous in open fields. Even if you occasionally only land body shots, you are still a threat.
These exotics could become really strong in PvP
The PvP expert Aztecross believes that the proposed changes will benefit not only legendary auto rifles but also the exotic ones. He recommends these 3 potential PvP killers for Season 10.
Hard Light
The 600 RPM auto rifle Hard Light was recently improved. Although only the so-called screen shake was fixed, many Guardians agree: Hard Light is now really strong and probably the best exotic auto rifle in PvP.
These are the advantages of Hard Light:
- The weapon has no damage drop-off, you deal maximum damage at any range
- Your projectiles bounce off surfaces like walls and deal extra damage afterwards
- The weapon feels very stable in hand, with the masterwork catalyst, you achieve full stability
- The handling is exceptionally high
- With a staggering 49 rounds in the magazine, you make life difficult for your opponents
Monte Carlo
The exotic returnee Monte Carlo also belongs to the 600 RPM auto rifles. The weapon with the striking appearance is already a dream for close-quarters fighters and will surely become even more popular in the next season.
These are the advantages of Monte Carlo:
- You deal more damage after each kill (stackable up to five times)
- After a melee kill, you immediately receive the maximum damage buff
- Reloads your melee ability very quickly
- With high-caliber rounds, your opponents find it harder to fight back
- Good handling, magazine size (43), and reload speed
SUROS Regime
The fan-favorite SUROS Regime is also intrinsically one of the auto rifles with a 600 RPM rate of fire. Especially the exotic perk “Spinning Up” could become very interesting and strong due to the planned changes.
These are the advantages of SUROS Regime:
- The second half of the magazine has bonus damage and can heal you after a kill – the masterwork catalyst increases the chance for this
- The longer you hold the trigger, the higher your rate of fire gets:
- After 12 shots, you reach a 720 RPM rate of fire and an optimal TTK of strong 0.58 seconds
- The last 12 shots in the magazine have a fire rate of 900 and achieve a record TTK of 0.47 seconds
These legendary auto rifles you should try out in Season 10
The legendary auto rifles also don’t have to hide in the next season. We have selected one representative from the 600 RPM and 720 RPM category that will allow you to deal significant damage in PvP.
Arc Logic
This is what distinguishes Arc Logic: The auto rifle Arc Logic (eng. Arc Logic) deals Arc damage and has a 600 RPM rate of fire. In December, a patch was deployed that fixed the overly intense muzzle flash.
With these perks, you can mainly improve stability, precision, and optimal range:
- Moving Target
- Tap the Trigger
- Zen Moment
According to Aztecross, you can become dangerous even at pulse rifle ranges with Arc Logic and have a very reliable weapon at hand.
This is how you get Arc Logic: You can farm Arc Logic specifically on the Moon. Simply complete bounties at the Lectern of Enchantment next to Eris Morn.
Looking for a 600 RPM alternative? A solid alternative for the weapon would be Magenknurren. The auto rifle is slightly less reliable, focusing more on damage increase and can be earned through Reckoning.
Sword of Steel Repeater
This is what distinguishes the Sword of Steel Repeater: If you are looking for a strong 720 RPM auto rifle, you should check out the Sword of Steel Repeater. With this weapon, you unleash a hail of bullets on your opponents and keep them under sustained fire.
You can rely entirely on lethality with the Sword of Steel Repeater and chain kills quickly:
- High-caliber rounds make it hard for your enemy to retaliate
- Rampage allows you to reload the magazine in no time
- En garde or Multi-Kill Clip increase your damage
- Vorpal Weapon makes it much easier to fight against a super
This is how you get the Sword of Steel Repeater: As a reward in the Sundial or through time-lost bounties, you can specifically grind for the Sword of Steel Repeater. Currently, one can relatively easily obtain a God Roll through the Empyrean Foundation.
These are good 720 RPM alternatives:
- In the raid Garden of Salvation, you can obtain the auto rifle Reckless Oracle. This weapon falls into the same category as the Sword of Steel Repeater but is significantly harder to farm.
- Valakadyn – This auto rifle also performs excellently. Unfortunately, it’s not easy to get a good roll for Valakadyn. You generally have to rely on your luck with Banshee-44.
What do you think about the changes for auto rifles – are you going to dominate PvP again with full-auto weapons or will you stick with precision hand cannons? Read here about which precise weapons will be heavily impacted by the changes in the next season:
