Before Shadowkeep is released, you can make a lot of preparations in Destiny 2 . Today we will show you which weapons you should definitely acquire before the launch of the new expansion – and why.
What is it about? Just last week, Bungie provided another insight into the upcoming sandbox changes for the weapons in PvE. With Shadowkeep, many of the current weapons in PvE will be significantly stronger and therefore more useful for many players.
This means that you could find them very useful for returning to the Moon. However, some of the following weapons may also be beneficial for upcoming activities, such as the Vex Offensive.
The Arsenal for the Start of Shadowkeep
Which weapons are we talking about? The list primarily includes weapons that will greatly benefit from the upcoming weapon updates in Shadowkeep. This should make your entry significantly easier. However, this requires that they drop with the right perks.
We will only look at legendary weapons so that you have the Exotic slot free for new Exotics from Shadowkeep and Season 8.
The following weapon selection is based on the video by KackisHD.
The Auto Rifle “Halsbruch”
Buff for the weapon type: PvE damage is increased by 30% to 25% depending on the opponent’s rank.
Why this weapon? Halsbruch has the ability to shoot very quickly due to its special perks. This makes it the perfect auto rifle to quickly eliminate large groups of enemies. Bungie created it to quickly defeat enemies in Gambit. Halsbruch is therefore a real star that will soon become even stronger. You can take advantage of this in Shadowkeep.
Kills grant temporarily increased damage through the perk “Frenzy“. This can stack 3 times. When stacking the perk, the fire rate is increased by the perk “Rampage”.

The Bow “Arsenbiss-4b”
Buff for the weapon type: PvE damage against smaller enemies is increased by 31% and against larger enemies by 26%.
Why this weapon? Kills grant temporarily increased damage through the perk “Frenzy“. This can stack 3 times. In addition, “Hunter’s Tempo” reduces the draw time of the bow with precision hits.
With the increased damage, the weapon is a good one-shot alternative for those who enjoy playing with a bow and can land precise hits.

The Hand Cannon “Rose”
Buff for the weapon type: Lightweight and adaptive hand cannons – 140/150 hand cannons use a new firing animation while aiming. This is meant to increase weapon precision when firing as quickly as possible. Additionally, the PvE damage against smaller enemies has been increased by 30%.
Why this weapon? Rose is already a useful weapon due to its power and handling. Both properties have a value of 80, which is quite high.
Your Masterwork perk additionally sets it apart from other weapons of its type: The range value for hand cannons will have less influence on effective range in the future. Hand cannons will thus face a range nerf. However, if you upgrade Rose and make it a Masterwork, your Masterwork perk will ensure that the weapon’s range is increased.
It thus has a higher range than other hand cannons, counteracts the nerf, and also deals more damage against smaller enemies. If you have a problem with smaller enemy hordes, Rose could prove to be useful.

Scout Rifle “Sauerstoff SG3”
Buff for the weapon type: PvE damage is increased by 36% to 18% depending on the opponent’s rank.
Why this weapon? In the future, scout rifles will have a better range advantage compared to other weapons, as pulse rifles and hand cannons will experience increased damage falloff over range. With the increased PvE damage, scout rifles will stand out more.
With the perk “Dragonfly,” precise kills cause an elemental damage explosion.
With the extended range, achieving precision kills should not be difficult, and the weapon deals additional damage the more precision kills you land.
This is due to the Meganeura perk. This can stack up to 3 times. Meganeura increases the damage of Dragonfly by 45% on the first stack, by 134% on the second stack, and by a maximum of 180% on the third stack.
The perks of this weapon therefore significantly enhance both overall damage and range. If you aim well enough, this is one of the best scout rifles you can get your hands on. Thanks to the elemental damage explosion, this weapon packs quite a punch and can also take out enemies in the immediate vicinity.

Sniper Rifle “Einziger Überlebender”
Buff for the weapon type: PvE damage against smaller enemies has been increased by 47% and against others by 20%
Why this weapon? Sniper rifles are becoming even better in the fight against boss enemies and deal 20% more damage than before.
With the perk “Outlaw,” the reload time of the weapon is reduced, and with “Snapshot Sights,” you can use the scope faster. In addition, its unique perk “Sharpshooter” increases the precision damage of the weapon as long as at least 2 allies are nearby.
In a raid scenario, you could position yourself in the Well of Radiance or look for shelter in the Titan Bubble. The bubble increases damage by 35%. Additionally, thanks to the sniper rifle damage buff, you deal an additional 20% more damage to boss enemies and can distribute your shots very quickly.
This could become a significant advantage in Shadowkeep. This sniper rifle is therefore very well suited for combating raid bosses and larger enemies due to its unique perks and the combination of buffs.

SMG “Die Einsiedlerspinne”
Buff for the weapon type: PvE damage against smaller and larger enemies is increased by 22.5%.
Why this weapon? SMGs deal significantly more damage across all enemy types. The Einsiedlerspinne is already quite strong due to its perks.
Thanks to “Frenzy,” kills with this weapon temporarily grant a higher reload speed. This means you deal a lot of damage in a short time. Additionally, it boasts good stability and range.
It is particularly enhanced by its “Weapon Mastery” perk. This increases the damage of the Einsiedlerspinne when killing an enemy with any weapon. So if you kill an enemy with another weapon and switch to the Einsiedlerspinne, the weapon deals more damage than other SMGs thanks to the activated perk.
The PvE damage thus increases by around 50%! This is a significant advantage over other SMGs.

A Good Start for Shadowkeep
For which activities can I use the weapons? The new expansion brings new activities into the game. In the new Vex Offensive and during the Nightmare Hunt, these weapons will be useful. You can also surely utilize one or the other mentioned weapon in the new raid.
In old PvE activities, they should still be at least equally effective.
Are these the strongest weapons in Shadowkeep? Probably not, but they are damn good weapons. They will make your entry easier. Shadowkeep will bring a large wave of new weapons and Exotics into the game. However, it remains to be seen how strong they will really be. Until then, you can’t go wrong with the arsenal of weapons listed above.
By the way, there are many more things you can do to prepare for Shadowkeep:
Do you already own these weapons or do you have any other suggestions? Feel free to write them in the comments.
