With the Forsaken expansion, Destiny 2 is set to become a hobby. A feature that is supposed to contribute to this process has now been revealed. With the autumn add-on, Bungie is bringing back the daily heroic story missions from the predecessor. This pleases Destiny players.
On the way to a hobby: You hear it repeatedly: Destiny 2 is supposed to become a hobby. The Forsaken add-on is meant to embody the next big step. Features such as:
- Random rolls for weapons,
- equipment collections,
- bounties
- or new activities like Gambit are supposed to provide more long-term motivation for the Guardians.

A new popular feature has now been revealed, which will make its return with the launch of the Forsaken expansion on September 4, 2018.
More variety through Daily Heroic Story Missions
New daily challenges: As Steve Cotton from Bungie revealed in an interview with Gamesradar, the daily heroic story missions from Destiny 1 will return with the Forsaken DLC. According to him, this will give Guardians even more opportunities to become stronger.
Rituals to become stronger
In addition, there are supposed to be other daily challenges – but also challenges that can be completed multiple times a week, though not daily.

How the Daily Heroic Missions will look (modifiers, difficulty level, power level requirement), whether they will be part of the milestone system, and what rewards they will offer is not yet known.
Fans are looking forward to it: More to do in Destiny 2
What do the fans think? This news has been received very positively by the community. Many passionate Guardians long for the daily Destiny experience, and in the eyes of the fans, this step can only be beneficial. This way, there is more to do than just complete all weekly milestones within three hours.
Many are looking forward to new daily tasks and the fact that the story missions will also make sense outside of the campaign.
If the heroic missions are structured similarly to the predecessor and also offer attractive loot (power upgrades), this feature could mean a significant advancement for solo players and provide new excitement daily. The heroic missions in Destiny 1 were challenging, but could also be completed solo.
What do you think of this news? Do you think daily heroic missions are a meaningful addition and an important step in returning to the hobby?
