In Destiny 2, Xur is a regular visitor that players should know. Only he sells Exotics for those who still have gaps in their collection or are hoping for better stats. Today, the mysterious vendor opens his hidden shop again, and we’ll reveal where to find him.
Before we get to Xur, as always, we have our Destiny 2 weekly recap. This week, there was not only a lot of discussion in the community but also a nerf that was mostly well-received and a special emblem tribute for all players.
What happened this week in Destiny 2? Last week, after Saltagreppo, a three-time Worlds-First winner, another experienced Destiny player commented on the nerf proposal of the Divinity.
The veteran Datto emphasized that he is aware that many Destiny 2 players are not sweat players or talents who master raids in one hour. Nevertheless, he agreed with Saltagreppo’s proposal – he just didn’t feel like discussing it before.
According to him, many Guardians “can’t see the forest for the trees” and therefore do not understand the issue this gun creates, as the streamer stated.
In the end, the entire discussion once again made it clear, how hardened the fronts are between content creators and regular players. However, the statements of the supposedly elite players from Destiny 2, that the “casuals” only want to keep everything that makes the game easier for them, may not be true. This was shown by the many reactions to the nerf of the Titan Exotic “Lorelei Splendor Helm”.
A very special emblem: Lastly, Bungie honored a German community hero particularly in Thursday’s weekly TWaB blog (“This Week at Bungie”).
This hero had already passed away in January 2022. To ensure his light is not forgotten, players now receive a free, unique emblem that he would surely have been proud of.

When does Xur arrive? The exotic vendor visits Destiny 2 every Friday at 7 PM. Anyone with gaps in their Exotic collection is looking forward to him, as he is the easiest way to get Exotics. You only need a trip and some materials as payment.

Xur’s location: Every week, Xur can be found at a different location. So you never know exactly where to meet him.

What does Xur offer? As the chosen exotic vendor of the “Nine”, a mysterious group in Destiny 2, Xur delivers new weapons and armor to players weekly on their behalf. Xur also sells Legendary items and offers unique rolls for Exotics from no longer available exotic missions from past DLCs each week. However, be aware: You can only purchase the weapons if you also own the appropriate expansion.

- The exotic hand cannon “Dead Moon” (Beyond Light) with the perk “Overflow”
- The exotic scout rifle “Tale of a Dead Man” (Beyond Light) with the perk “Moving Target”
The cost of the weapons: For these two Exotics, the costs are 1 Ascendant Shard, 1 Exotic Code, 125,000 Glimmer, and 200 Legendary Shards each.
Xur always has: An Exotic Engram for 97 Legendary Shards, as well as the weekly quest to obtain an Exotic Code.
Finally, Trials again!
Tonight marks the end of the long drought for PvP hardcore players. The Trials of Osiris are back, offering them a stage for the toughest guardian-versus-guardian battles in Destiny 2.
But be warned: Bungie has its eye on all players who want to cheat in PvP activities or indirectly through boosting or creating new “Burner” accounts and involving them in endgame content like Trials.
According to Bungie, detection systems have been integrated and activated to indicate the presence of certain cheats on the user’s computer. Further “detection measures” are set to follow later this year.
Which map is in play this week? The so-called PvP Trials always take place on a designated map.

This is how you get your loot: The Trials of Osiris feature a rank system. Your top loot reward from the PvP matches is currently for:
- Seven victories
- 50 rounds

This is the reward for a flawless run: Each week, there is also a special weapon at the Lighthouse that you receive for your flawless run, meaning 7 victories, as a Master version. You can earn the weapon until the upcoming Tuesday, September 20, at 7:00 PM.

All trial weapons have a Trials source perk: “Haste” – Improves reload speed, stability, aim assist, and range when you are the last living member of your fireteam or fighting alone.
You can focus your Trial Engrams on your desired weapon at the 14th Saint. Additionally, there are enhancement prisms and ascendant shards. Keep in mind that your reward increases further once you have a complete pass – even if you’ve lost one or two games.
When do Trials officially start? The Trials of Osiris begin today, September 16, at 7:00 PM and end with the weekly reset on September 20 at 7:00 PM.
