Xur has set out to bring his exotic offerings to the players in Destiny 2. He doesn’t care that some people hate him, because his task is determined by nine higher powers and is anything but useless. MeinMMO shows you what he has.
What happened this week in Destiny 2? Destiny 2 has its sights set on the launch date of the Lightfall DLC next February. The developer is already announcing extensive changes that have so far made a really good impression on many players.
- Additionally, they presented the new location of Lightfall: “Neomuna”
- Bungie explained in an interview how the new ability “Strand” works
- And a new shader showed how much better designers at Bungie can now express their creativity
Alongside the positive changes, a few nerfs are unavoidable. With Lightfall, the game balance should be right. They do not want the new ability “Strand” to live up to its name and go overboard, or for dominant exotics to become too annoying. Therefore, Bungie shared the following planned changes:
In the latest preview trailer for Lightfall, there was a first look at the city “Neomuna”:

Xur’s position: Xur uses mysterious routes, so no Guardian knows where he will land before 6 PM. However, MeinMMO knows his habits and will track him down for you.

Trials of Osiris from January 20 – 24 – Map, Weapons, and Info
The Trials are back, and in the “This Week at Bungie” blog, Bungie had good news for your weapon focuses. From now on, you won’t have to dig so deep into your pockets for Legendary Shards.
- The focusing costs for all weapons and armors from Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner, Crucible, and Gambit have been reduced from 50 to 25 Legendary Shards.
- The costs for the focusing of master weapons have been reduced from 250 to 50.
What are the Trials in Destiny 2?
The Trials of Osiris are an endgame PvP activity and take place every weekend. There is only one exception, which is during the Iron Banner event. Just like last week. Bungie will again refresh the 14th Saint’s inventory this weekend with new Trials passes and loot streams, so you can increase your fame in the PvP endgame.
Which map is this week? Unlike in regular PvP, where maps rotate, in the Guardian vs. Guardian endgame, there is only one fixed map played every weekend.
The map this week is: Wormhaven
This is how you get your loot: The Trials of Osiris have a reputation rank system. Your top loot reward from the PvP matches is currently available for:
- Seven victories
- 50 rounds
- as well as the infamous flawless run that takes you to the Lighthouse
This is the reward for a flawless run: Every week, a special weapon awaits you at the Lighthouse, which you receive as a master version for your flawless run, i.e., 7 victories. You can earn the weapon until the upcoming Tuesday, January 24, at 6:00 PM.
As a reward, you always get an Adept weapon when you successfully reach the Lighthouse.
This week’s Adept weapon is: Burden of Guilt, Stasis Fusion Rifle
All Trials weapons have a Trials origin perk: “Haste” – Improves reload speed, stability, aim assist, and range when you are the last surviving member of your fire team or fighting alone.
You can focus your Trials engrams on your desired weapon at the 14th Saint. On top of that, you’ll get enhancement prisms and ascendant shards. Remember that your rewards increase even further when you have a complete pass – even if you’ve lost one or two games.
When do the Trials officially start? The Trials of Osiris begin today, January 20, 2023, at 6:00 PM and end with the weekly reset on January 24, 2023, at 6:00 PM.
What do you think about this week’s developments? Did you like the changes regarding the mods? And what would you definitely wish to see in Xur’s offerings? Let us know in the comments.
