In Destiny 2 you can help your luck in the Lost Sectors and with a bit of patience fairly accurately determine when you will receive which armor Exotics.
This is the trick: There are in Destiny 2 Exotics that can only be found in Lost Sectors (on Legendary or Grandmaster). These are the new and trendy armor Exotics. What’s frustrating is: You cannot get your desired Exotic every day.
However, with a simple trick, you can now determine at will which type of Exotic you receive as a reward. Do you lack the new chest piece that turns Titans into Supermen and shows off with the Twitch streamer? No problem with a bit of patience.
These are the Exotics: Almost every armor Exotic can be found in the special Lost Sectors. But these 9 powerful items can only be obtained there:
- Omnioculus: Hunter Chest Armor
- Cloak of Harmonious Combat: Warlock Chest Armor
- Graviton Forfeit: Titan Chest Armor
- Athrys’ Embrace: Hunter Gloves
- Necrotic Grip: Warlock Gloves
- Icefall Mantle: Titan Gloves
- Mask of Bakris: Hunter Helm
- Duskfield Grenade: Warlock Helm
- Precious Scars: Titan Helm
The Graviton Forfeit is particularly popular in Season 13. It transforms the dust-covered Arc Titan into Superman and knocks bosses out with a single blow.
The top Exotics Necrotic Grip, Mask of Bakris or Duskfield Grenade are equally recommended and should not be missing from any collection.
Outsmarting Lost Sectors in Season 13
Know this mechanic: The special thing about the legendary Lost Sectors is that they rotate daily, changing which category of Exotic is available. You will find them since Season 13 in the Cosmodrome, on Europa and the Moon.
- One day all Exotics found here are boots – this is basically the “Leg Day”, sounds like the gym, but is very important. Then there are glove, chest, and helm days.
- Only on glove day can you for example receive the “Necrotic Grip” glove.
- But no matter how many times you run the activity on glove day, in the end, there will never be an exotic chest piece drop.
- What is currently in the loot pool is always shown to you by the sector under “Rewards”.
And you can take advantage of this rotation to help your luck. You can choose a “simple” sector and farm the new chest Exotics, even if it is boot day.
Patience leads you to the new Exotics of Destiny 2
How it works: Make sure that before starting the Lost Sector, you carry 10 Engrams with you. 10 is the maximum, any additional Engrams you find will automatically go to the Postmaster.
Filling your inventory completely should go quite quickly through the Umbral Engrams. Add one or 2 Prime Engrams and the 10 slots will be filled quickly.
If you receive loot at the end of a Lost Sector, the Exotics drop in the form of Engrams. They are usually decoded immediately, that is, unpacked. If all Engram slots are filled, then the Exotic will go to the Postmaster as an encrypted Engram. Leave it there for now.
Your Engram from the legendary Lost Sector will transform by the reset (currently 6 PM) into the Exotic that would be due on the new day. In other words: If you completed the sector on glove day and it would now be chest day, there would be a chest Exotic at the Postmaster – and thus the chance for the new armors.
What you should pay attention to: As a reward, not only exotic Engrams but also upgrade cores can appear. They look almost identical to the Exotics on the ground.
Since you do not pick up the drop, the cores also go to the Postmaster. There, however, the Engrams are displayed with 0 power and should be sorted out.
Also, keep in mind that you will not necessarily receive the new Exotics. You can only narrow down the category. According to player tests (via reddit), the chance for an exotic drop is about 24 – 36 %.
