Bungie fulfills the wish of many fans and makes the quest for the arguably best exotic sniper in Destiny 2 continuously available.
What happened? With the Update 2.1.4 on January 29, numerous changes were made to the game. One of these is currently bringing joy to many fans.
Because the quest for the exotic sniper rifle Whisper of the Worm is no longer just available on weekends. Guardians can now hunt for the powerful sniper every day.
What exactly has changed with the Whisper quest? Players who do not yet have the Whisper of the Worm can pick up the corresponding quest from the Drifter in the Tower. This quest sends the Guardians to Io in the Lost Oasis area to investigate the Taken anomalies that lead to the Whisper mission.
Previously, the anomalies only appeared between Friday evening and Monday, but now they are available daily. Additionally, you no longer have to wait specifically for a public event with Taken. The anomaly now activates during any public event in the Lost Oasis.
The change to the quest was hinted at some time ago.
If you have completed the Whisper mission, the follow-up quest for the catalyst now becomes continuously available. However, you can only loot the chests there once a week. Then you have to wait until the next Weekly Reset.
How are the fans reacting? On Reddit and social media, numerous Guardians are celebrating this decision. Especially those who cannot or rarely play on weekends due to family or work circumstances are loudly welcoming this change.
But many who are grinding for the exotic catalyst are also happy about the removal of the previous restrictions.
However, there are also some critical voices who critique that Bungie is too lenient. They claim that if enough people “cry,” things are changed in favor of the casuals.
