The exotic grenade launcher Anarchy is currently one of the most popular and best weapons in Destiny 2. However, that could change soon, as Bungie plans to nerf this exotic weapon shortly.
Where does the info come from? Recently, Bungie provided a first but comprehensive look at the upcoming Mid-Season Update on Destiny 2 in their “This Week at Bungie” blog. This update is expected to be as large as none before and will bring numerous changes in the context of Season 14 for the action MMO, including various buffs and nerfs for different weapons.
In this context, the studio talked about some other upcoming changes for the near future of Destiny 2. As the developers mentioned, one of the best exotic weapons in the game is set to be nerfed soon.
“Anarchy has been too good for too many years…”
This is the weapon in question: The weapon in question is the exotic grenade launcher Anarchy – a power weapon for the heavy slot that fires sticky grenades, which can then be connected by chain lightning.
The Anarchy originally comes from the raid “Crota’s End”. However, since it rotated into the Destiny Content Vault with the release of Beyond Light, players can now purchase it at the Tower kiosk via the exotic archive.
What is the “problem” with this weapon? The exotic is currently considered one of the best in the game, firmly belongs to the Exotic meta in Season 14 in PvE. It was stated in the “This Week at Bungie” blog: “Anarchy has been too good for too many years (even without the boost it received this season through the artifact mods for grenade launchers). Therefore, we are making changes that will make it great in certain roles rather than the king of all grenade launchers.”
The days of Anarchy’s ubiquitous PvE dominance are officially numbered. Those who own the weapon should enjoy it while it still reigns supreme. Because Bungie unfortunately doesn’t always handle powerfully adjusted Exotics or weapons with the necessary finesse and care.
What exactly does the nerf look like? Unfortunately, the developers did not reveal that. However, we should receive solid details before the new season starts. Because such changes are usually communicated by the studio in more concrete terms in advance.
When does the nerf come? There is no exact date, but it is said to be in the “near future”, specifically in Season 15, the upcoming new season that is expected to start on August 24. It is conceivable and quite likely that this nerf will come with the traditional major update at the start of the season.
