In Destiny 2 , the PlayStation 4 will be favored. This is indicated by a trailer. Destiny 2 players on PS4 are expected to receive exclusive game content. They are said to remain exclusive for at least one year.
On Wednesday evening, the first teaser trailer for Destiny 2 was released. Sony has also uploaded the trailer, but it is a few seconds longer.
Just enough seconds to announce: “You will get exclusive game content on PlayStation 4.”
Game content is to remain exclusive to PS4 players at least until fall 2018
The fine print states that this PlayStation-exclusive content is to be available only for PlayStation 4 at least until fall 2018. So exactly as long as originally with Destiny 1. Sony had secured a similar exclusivity deal there – much to the dismay of Xbox One players.
In Destiny 1, some exotic items, strikes, and PvP maps were exclusive to PS4.
Whenever “older things” became accessible to everyone, players on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 received new items via DLCs or updates that were only intended for them and not for Xbox One players.
Players on Xbox One are still waiting for the “final push” of exclusive PS4 content. It is still exclusive, even though the last update for Destiny 1 has already been released.
Many questions about Destiny 2 remain open: Does this also affect the PC? What exactly is exclusive?
It is assumed that Destiny 2 will also be released for PC players. Currently, it is still unclear whether this will happen. An official statement is still missing – only numerous indications and leaks suggest it. A definitive announcement is expected on March 30 at 7:00 PM.
Whether PC players will also receive these exclusive contents for Destiny 2 is also still unclear. In The Division, for example, Xbox One had an exclusive deal, which also included PC players. In The Division, ultimately only PlayStation 4 players were disadvantaged. That was a form of “console exclusivity.” How it will be with Destiny 2 is still unknown.
