On July 7, the next patch – Update 2.9.1 – is coming to all platforms for Destiny 2. Bungie has already given a preview of the changes that Guardians can expect.
What’s coming for Destiny 2? This coming Tuesday, July 7, there’s a lot happening around Destiny 2.
On one hand, the next new content of the ongoing Season 11 – the Moments of Triumph – is starting. In the form of the Moments of Triumph, Bungie traditionally looks back at the past Destiny year with players and celebrates this with Guardians. Players are tasked with completing specific triumphs and can earn some cool rewards in the process.
On the other hand, July 7 is traditionally the annual Bungie Day – a celebration around all things Bungie and the community that has been held for over 10 years. Usually, there are some events to participate in, chances to win something, and sometimes a sneak peek at upcoming content.
Additionally, a new update – Update 2.9.1 – is due to arrive. This brings the Moments of Triumph into the game and according to Bungie, it will “bring a lot of bug fixes” for the Season of Arrival. Accordingly, the studio has already provided a preview of what changes Guardians can expect in this context.
Update 2.9.1 for Destiny 2 – Patch Notes Preview
With this patch, Bungie aims to fix numerous bugs with the new Contact Event, the associated weapons, and in other areas of the game that currently annoy Guardians. Among other things, the following changes will be made:
Contact Events:
- A problem will be fixed where the Heavyweight Triumph did not record progress when bosses were defeated.
- A problem will be fixed where Guardians could collect and surrender a full 15 particles in the Contact Event before they had activated the required Rank Reward at the Prisma-Umformer.
Contact Weapons: Here, unfortunately, the damage bug with the currently best sword is being fixed. However, a positive change for the sword is also coming.
- A problem will be fixed where the pulse rifle Cold Denial and the sword Falling Guillotine did not have two perks in the last column, even though the Umbral Upgrade III at the Prisma-Umformer was already activated.
- A bug will be fixed where the sword Falling Guillotine could continue to deal damage to enemies after the animation of its heavy attack was already over.
Problem with Catalysts:
- Reissued Seraph weapons did not grant progress for catalyst progress and objectives. This will now be fixed.
Raids Last Wish and Garden of Salvation: Even legendary armors will receive a sort of expiration date with the weapon retirement. However, raid armors are a bit different and last longer. This has now been adjusted for the 2 raids Last Wish and Garden of Salvation:
- The raid gear has been updated to now have maximum infusion limits of the Season of Arrival.
Weekly Vanguard Bounties:
- The mock, Cabal, Vex, and Fallen variants of the Weekly Bounties from the “Season of Arrival” pool have been removed.
Keep in mind that this is a sample excerpt and not a complete list. A listing of all changes will be provided on July 7 in the form of official patch notes.
