In Destiny 2 gibt es über 60 exotische Waffen. Wir sagen euch, weshalb ihr aber gerade jetzt ein altes Schießeisen aus dem Tresor kramen solltet.
Um diese Waffe geht’s: The Exotic “Sunshot” is a primary hand cannon that is used in the energy slot. The revolver deals solar damage. Sunshot has a rate of fire of 150 and shoots slightly faster than, for example, the Pistol.
The unique exotic abilities of the weapon are:
- Sunburn – The weapon fires explosive rounds and marks hit targets
- Solar Explosion – defeated targets explode and chain solar explosions

Why should you try Sunshot now? The weapon exotic has been available since the launch of Destiny 2. Sunshot was indeed available in the beta of Destiny 2. You can obtain the weapon in the story or buy it from Xur. You can also stumble upon the revolver as a random world drop.
The weapon has received several changes over time. Compared to the original version, Sunshot can now:
- Cause significantly larger explosions. Compared to most explosive abilities, the blast from Sunshot is considerably larger. Uniquely, the explosion chains. Defeated enemies trigger a new detonation each time.
- The magazine size has been increased. Instead of the original 8 shots, Sunshot’s magazine currently holds 12 rounds.
The exotic catalyst grants the exotic additional power. This gives the weapon a significant bonus to range (+30) and stability (+20). Thus, Sunshot has phenomenal stats all around:
- Range 68/100
- Stability 66/100
- Handling 83/100
- Reload Speed 75/100
- Recoil Direction 98/100
Due to the positive changes and the fact that many other weapons have been nerfed, Sunshot currently represents a real alternative again.
Solar Explosions in Practice Test
How well does Sunshot perform in PvP: Hand cannons are considered by many guardians to be “the” weapon class in the crucible. Precise, deadly, and a cool look – this sums up the revolvers in PvP.
These aspects particularly apply to the explosive exotic. Because many hand cannons recently received an adjustment, Sunshot can shine even more now.
Almost all revolvers have lost range. With Sunshot, part of the damage is shifted to the explosive rounds. These have no damage drop-off – no matter the distance.
In the course of the nerfs, the animation of many hand cannons has been adjusted. They now shoot much more accurately. So Sunshot benefits from the changes doubly. You should definitely give the exotic a chance in PvP.
How well does Sunshot perform in PvE: In the fight against the Darkness and the AI enemies of the Guardians, Sunshot does exactly what a primary weapon should do: clear adds.
The explosions take out a whole horde of minions or other enemies at once. All you have to do is take down a single target, and not even with a well-aimed headshot.
Often, due to the explosive chaining, one hit is enough to deal with an entire wave of enemies. With a decent magazine size and excellent reload speed, you always have a round ready. Additionally, playing this way is just incredibly fun.
So could a PvE build with Sunshot look like: Since you have one of the best weapons for clearing adds, we need something for majors and bosses:
- Special Weapon: Shotgun or Sniper
- Power Weapon: Grenade Launcher
With your shotgun, you take on tougher majors. The Perfect Paradox deals with Cabal Centurions effortlessly, for example. If you prefer to fight ogres from a safe distance, equip Sniper Rest in the kinetic slot.
If it comes to dealing good boss damage, you are no longer reliant on exotics in the power slot. Grenade Launchers like Wendigo or Raven’s Swarm can also keep up with the toughest bosses.
Have you almost forgotten Sunshot? Will you now retrieve the exotic from the vault? With hardly any other weapon do enemies dissolve so much in delight and fireballs.
