In Destiny 2, many Guardians are drawn to the Nightfall Strikes this week. The reason is a shotgun. We will tell you how to quickly get through the strike and explain why the weapon is worth it.
This is the weapon: The shotgun “Mindbender’s Ambition” belongs in the energy slot, requires special ammunition, and causes solar damage.
The pump is assigned to the aggressive archetype. Therefore, it has an excellent impact of 80. However, it also has a slow fire rate of 55, which increases after kills.
The weapon with the long name is simply called “Mindbenders” in the community. It is particularly strong in PvP. In the Destiny database light.gg, the shotgun is rated 4.8 / 5 points. In the Crucible, kills can be achieved from impressive distances of 8 to 9 meters.
Why should you farm now? The Mindbender’s can only drop from the Nightfall version of the mission “The Hollowed Layer.” Which strikes are selected for the Nightfall is determined randomly at each Weekly Reset.
If the Nightfall is active as a Trial, there is also strike-specific loot here. The chance to obtain the shotgun has not been very frequent lately.
To have any chance at the shotgun, you must survive the entire strike and the boss. Even if you are rewarded with the weapon, you must be lucky with the loot. Because the Mindbenders have random rolls.
This roll you should hunt: To get the most out of your shotgun, you should farm for this roll:
- Barrel – Smoothbore
- Magazine – Enhanced Rounds
- Perk 1 – Sliding
- Perk 2 – Stable Grip
- Masterwork – Range
With this combination, we achieve the maximum range from the shotgun. This way, we extend our distance, with which we can take down a Guardian with just one shot (One-Hit-Kill or OHK) to about 9 meters.
By using “Stable Grip,” we enhance our handling, which we need for aiming, among other things. At the same time, we reload while sliding. Additionally, the range temporarily increases again, even if only for a short time.
Quickly through the Nightfall
This is how you quickly get through the strike: We have some tips for you to race through “The Hollowed Layer”:
- Ideally, choose a solar modifier, as most enemies deal arc or void damage.
- You can save a lot of time right from the start. Speed past everything with your Sparrow until you reach the large room with the platform and the Fallen Walker.
- In the area with the two lowering platforms left and right, occupy both platforms simultaneously.
- Use everything to gain control over the adds as quickly as possible. As soon as the mid-boss appears, deal with him and push forward.
- The subsequent part can largely be skipped. Instead of turning right, jump straight across the platforms and continue towards the strike boss.
- You cannot take down the boss (Fanatic) immediately. Focus on him each time he becomes vulnerable. When he becomes immune, do not waste any more ammunition.
- Your main focus in this fight is not boss damage, but add control. Eliminate the hordes as quickly as possible (Arrow, Dawnblade, or Hammer) to make the boss vulnerable again.
