Although Season 10 of Destiny 2 has now consumed all the content communicated in the roadmap, it could still get really exciting in the Season of Worthy. Because in the background, quite a bit is brewing.
Where does Season 10 currently stand? The Guardian Games recently ended, and with that, Season 10 has essentially shot its load. All communicated and known contents from the roadmap or other official announcements from Bungie are now essentially used up.
However, until the Season of Worthy ends on June 9, there is still some time – and this time could indeed become more exciting than many might think. But why? Three things speak in favor of it.
The seasonal story continues to unfold in the background
First, the seasonal story is still being told, even if it has mainly taken place in the background so far. The Almighty, a massive Cabal warship, is still crashing towards Earth. We are still trying, with the help of Zavala, Ana Bray, and the war mind Rasputin, to prevent the impending disaster.
In doing so, we equip the powerful war mind Rasputin with weapons and increasingly expand his influence to restore his former power. Through this alliance, we promise ourselves a chance against the crashing Cabal ship.
The story is currently even being continued in the sky, and it is basically clear that everything will still develop further until the end of the season. So we can expect something here. Can we stop the ship? Or is there going to be a catastrophe? After all, the upcoming Season 11 is said to be something very special according to Bungie – like no season before.
Additionally, a recent leak showed a destroyed tower. It remains exciting.
The great threat is getting closer
Moreover, the great story surrounding the Darkness from the Shadowkeep expansion continues in the background and is increasingly woven into the seasonal story.
Because not only is the Cabal warship currently a threat to us – the doomsday clock keeps ticking, meaning the Darkness is advancing with its fleet of mysterious pyramid ships. And it increasingly seems that we might soon face the Darkness – possibly even this season.
Among other things, a leaked in-game cutscene is causing several players to get goosebumps. This is expected to be included in the game during Season 10. The situation will likely intensify in the course of the last month of the season.
Will we encounter the Darkness in the Season of Worthy? How far will the enemy fleet advance? And what about Rasputin – can he possibly help us against this arch-enemy? It is definitely going to be very exciting.
Will we need to rescue Felwinter in Season 10?
Furthermore, we might also expect a new mission related to the nano-technology SIVA, the Iron Lord Felwinter and his iconic shotgun Felwinter’s Lie as part of Season 10. This should still be well remembered by some Destiny veterans.
One of the most prominent Destiny dataminers, Ginsor, found new data at the end of March that came into the game as part of the ongoing Season 10. If you believe this data, then the Guardians will be sent on a quest. At the end of which, they will likely need to rescue Felwinter, an Iron Lord who has been corrupted by SIVA, and will probably also acquire his shotgun. And this quest – The Lie – apparently went live recently. Although the Guardians are currently still stuck on the first step, which requires an enormous community effort with 9 million successful event completions. However, the quest name and the subsequent steps suggest that we are probably chasing after Felwinter’s Lie shotgun – and likely need to rescue Felwinter himself.
Apparently, a whole lore book about Felwinter is supposed to be unlocked as part of the triumphs.
So there is already a lot of suspense, and it will be interesting to see what the season still has to offer in its final moments.
Finally an exciting season finale?
Whether all these things will actually occur as part of Season 10 or in general is not completely confirmed yet – but much seems plausible and anything but unlikely.
Currently, it really looks like Bungie has taken the previous criticism of the season finales to heart and is now planning a truly exciting season finale, which we hope will not just be something we read about in a post on Bungie.net.
And we shouldn’t have to wait much longer to find out definitively. Because there’s less than a month until the end of Season 10. A month without officially announced content, during which it could still get really exciting.
