What Guardians can expect from the mysterious murder quest
This is what Bungie says: As the studio has now announced in its latest “This Week at Bungie” blog, the quest will span three weeks – even though the Festival of the Lost ends on November 6. Each week, there will be a new quest step including a powerful reward.
For all those who have already mastered the very short first quest step this week, there is indeed nothing left but to wait until the next weekly reset. Only then does the next quest step continue. Many Guardians are disappointed as a result.
So it seems the Thunderlord leak was correct: Although Bungie has not gone into detail about the further quest progression or the potential reward at the end of the task, with their statement the developers indirectly confirm the widely discussed leak from AnonTheNine.
The esteemed Redditor had previously announced the early return of the first heavy machine gun – the Thunderlord from Destiny 1 – as part of the festival quest. Recently, he added that the quest for the weapon would span three weeks. This now seems to indeed be the case.
While this still does not give a 100% guarantee that the leaker is completely correct with his details, he has proven to be an extremely reliable source in the past and is therefore highly regarded in the community.
The probability is high that at the end of this quest, the Thunderlord indeed awaits fans – as a kind of preview of the return of heavy MGs in December. Additionally, it will be exciting to see if the Guardians will indeed be sent back to the Cosmodrome one last time as part of the quest.
