To the dismay of many Guardians, it turned out last week that the exclusive Nightfall rewards in Destiny 2 are bugged. Tonight, an update for Destiny 2 finally comes to fix the issue. We have the details.
Nightfall loot bugged: The disappointment was great when it was officially confirmed last week what numerous fans had already suspected: the exclusive Nightfall rewards in Destiny 2 are bugged. This affects the Strikes of the base game and the “Curse of Osiris” expansion. No exclusive Nightfall rewards drop anymore.
Numerous Guardians were therefore not only disappointed but also angry. Because since the reset on May 29, the coveted hand cannon T.V.O. should be available as a Nightfall-specific reward. Many fans have invested considerable amounts of time to obtain the weapon. As it turned out in the end – in vain.
No quick solution: Some players had still hoped that Bungie would find a quick solution to the problem, allowing them to have a chance to hunt for the beloved hand cannon once again before the next Weekly Reset. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
Hotfix 1.2.1.1 should solve the Nightfall loot problem
Hotfix coming: Now, Bungie seems to have finally found a solution to the problem. On Wednesday, June 6, 2018, the hotfix 1.2.1.1 is scheduled to be released and will resolve the issue. The hotfix should be available for download and installation starting at 6:00 PM.
No downtime: Although the hotfix is associated with maintenance work, there should be no server downtime – except in emergencies. The maintenance work will take place from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. By then, the last Guardians will be removed from their activities and asked to download and install the hotfix if not already done. The patch notes are not yet available.
Consolatory gesture: Furthermore, Bungie wants to make amends to all aggrieved players and plans to bring back the “Tree of Probabilities” strike as a Nightfall in the coming weeks.

Update 9:11 PM: The hotfix 1.2.1.1 is now here.
- The hotfix addresses the issue with the unique rewards in Nightfall, as we mentioned in the article.
- Additionally, the update fixes a problem where players could “unequip” all weapons when they were using an app on the go. There was a serious exploit behind it that allowed players to reach max level.
- And Bungie has fixed a problem where players with Nvidia laptops had a constant black screen.
