What is happening with the construction in the Tower? Since Season 8, not only has the Moon been haunted by the Hive – Guardians are in the midst of a Vex invasion. At the end of the confusing Shadowkeep story, Ikora Rey came into play. She revealed that she was working on a solution to the current problems.
If you visit the Warlock Chief Ikora at the Tower Bazaar, you can witness her diligence for yourself. Right behind her is a construction site. Each week at reset, the construction changes and grows. Platforms, technical equipment, and workers are added.
What players speculate: A few weeks ago, there were wild speculations about the purpose of the construction works, but the purpose is now likely clear. In the last refuge of the Guardians, a massive Vex portal is being constructed (let’s just exclude the rarely visited Farm).
Now it is time to uncover the purpose of this portal. The Vex themselves not only travel from one place to another with their portals, they can also move backward and forward in time.
A look at the roadmap for Season 8 shows that on November 19, the seasonal activity Vex Offensive will enter the hot phase with the “Final Assault”. Many Guardians expect the appearance of the “Immortal Ghost”. This Vex boss, known from Destiny 1, has already been teased in the game triumphs.
Is the construction dangerous? Some Guardians believe that Ikora’s endeavor could backfire. Instead of taking the fight to the enemy Vex, the Guardians could face a nasty surprise.

This is what Bungie promised: What exactly happens once the mysterious portal is complete or Season 8 is over, only Bungie themselves likely know. In any case, the continuously changing game world fits with what the developers said before Shadowkeep.
Destiny should feel more alive and tell its story over the course of the entire season. Thanks to this approach, Guardians always have something new to discover. Additionally, the individual seasons are supposed to be thematically interconnected and feel like a large unit.
Destiny has already partially tested this concept. With Forsaken, players could experience the cycles of the “Dreaming City”. The cursed location changed in a three-week rhythm. The popular dungeon “Shattered Throne” was only available in the highest curse week until recently.
Example Fortnite? When it comes to in-game events and a changing world in shooters, there is no doubt that Fortnite is in the lead. Whether every Destiny fan wants it to go in this direction remains to be seen (not to mention the developer Bungie). However, Destiny could still take some tricks from it.
