In Destiny 2, today, on September 17th, is the Weekly Reset. The last Iron Banner of Year 2 begins, and there are fresh activities to master.
What is happening today in Destiny 2? Today is quite an eventful Tuesday in Destiny 2. The Year 2 is nearing its end, Shadowkeep is just around the corner, and the last Year 2 activities are finishing or starting:
- Today, the Triumph Moments 2019 come to an end. If you do not have the Triumphs for the T-shirt or the title yet, you have missed your chance.
- Additionally, you need to install Update 2.5.2.3 today to continue playing Destiny 2. This update makes the billing easier, among other things.
- And the last Iron Banner PvP event of Year 2 starts.
Under the watchful eyes of Lord Saladin, you can compete in the Iron Banner for a week. It runs from September 17th to September 24th – when the last Year 2 week before Shadowkeep begins.

Nightfall Strikes on September 17th on PS4, Xbox One and PC
These are the new Nightfalls of the week:
- The Corrupted
- The Insight Terminus
- Exodus Crash
Through the Nightfall Strikes, you can earn strike-exclusive loot. You can find all Nightfall exclusive rewards here.
You earn powerful loot by successfully completing a Nightfall and mastering a Nightfall with at least 100,000 points. For this, you need Xur’s challenge card to rack up the points.
The Modifiers in Strikes and Story Missions
These modifiers are available in Vanguard Strikes and Missions:
- Voidburn
- Iron (enemies have more health and do not stagger when taking damage)
- Heavyweight (power weapons deal more damage)
The burn modifier is active all week, while the rest change daily.
For weekly powerful loot, you need to complete 3 heroic story missions and 3 heroic strikes with the focus element that corresponds to the burn element.
What’s in the Crucible, Gambit, and Reckoning?
In the Crucible, you can expect these PvP modes:
- Quickplay
- Competitive
- Iron Banner
- Rumble
- Private Match
The modifiers in Reckoning: Henceforth, only two modifiers are active, the “negative modifier” has been removed:
- Solar Burn
- Grenadier (grenades are more powerful and recharge faster)
For powerful loot:
- participate in 5 Crucible matches
- participate in 3 Gambit matches
- participate in 4 Gambit Prime matches
- successfully complete Reckoning runs (up to 100%)
What does the Drifter have? He has the Gambit bounty “Get Going” for a powerful reward, for which you need to earn 12 points in Gambit. Wins are worth 3 points, losses grant one point.
Loot in the escalation protocol

Flashpoint, Werner, Petra, Spider
The Flashpoint takes place this week on Titan. Complete this along with the associated adventure to receive 2 powerful rewards.
Ikora Rey rewards you for completing 20 random bounties during the week with a powerful reward.
Petra Venj begins the 3rd Curse week today. This means that the Broken Throne is active again. If you complete Petras mission, the Ascendant Challenge, and a total of 8 of her daily bounties, you will receive a powerful loot for each of these tasks. The 1st Ascendant Challenge is active.
With Spider, you have to kill the Silent Reaper.
You will also be rewarded if you collect 5,000 Clan XP for Hawthorne this week. In addition, she has the bounties “Stay Outside”, “Keep Going”, and “Limited Blessing”.
