In Destiny 2, today, June 12th, the Weekly Reset is back. The winner of the Faction Rally has been announced. With the weekly reset, new activities such as the Nightfall strike or the Flashpoint can now be tackled. The weekly Crucible playlist is also rotating again.
The new week kicks off with a bang: During the Sony presentation at E3 2018, Bungie unveiled a story trailer for the upcoming Forsaken expansion for Destiny 2. The story of the fall expansion takes an unexpected turn for many Guardians. One of the main characters from the previous Destiny storyline is literally executed by a well-known, though presumed lost character from Destiny 1.

By the way, after initial confusion, it is now officially confirmed: The Dead Orbit has won the first group match of Season 3 as expected. The Faction Rally is now over. The corresponding in-game announcement unfortunately came with a nearly 20-minute delay. But now the winning weapon – the Basilisk shotgun – can be claimed. Followers of the Dead Orbit pay 1,000 Glimmer, while all other Guardians must pay 50,000 Glimmer for the weapon.
But let’s see what else this week has to offer.
Nightfall starting June 12 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC
This week, the Nightfall is “Wille der Tausenden”. The Nightfall-specific reward in this strike is currently unknown.
No modifiers are active in the standard Nightfall strike!
In Prestige mode, you must activate the modifiers via the challenge cards. These cards drop for DLC owners in both the standard and Prestige modes of the Nightfall strike. Don’t forget that you can upgrade your challenge cards with Xur again from Friday.
The following challenges are waiting to be mastered:
- Unbroken: Complete the Nightfall with fewer than three deaths
- Three and done: Freeze Xol 3 times with the Valkyrie
Heroic Strike Modifiers
The following modifiers are active in the heroic strike playlist:
- Arc Burn: Arc damage from all sources is slightly increased
- Glass: Health and shields are halved, but recovery is twice as fast
- Grenadier: Grenade abilities deal more damage and recharge much faster
Flashpoint, Raid Challenge, Treasure Maps, Meditations
The Flashpoint this week is in the EDZ. There, public events must be mastered.

Ikora Rey has meditations for the missions “Tide”, “Utopia”, “Deadly Trial”, and “Ice and Shadow”.
The raid challenge takes place this time in the Circus.
