In Destiny 2, today, December 11, is the weekly reset. The Winter event “The Dawning” has begun. Additionally, Guardians have new activities and challenges. But what are the Nightfall strikes this time? And where can one find the Flashpoint?
The Dawning begins: From today it will be festive in Destiny 2. The Update 2.1.2 is now live, and the Dawning event, a kind of winter festival, has officially begun. In this context, Guardians now have until January 1, 2019, to earn all sorts of cool loot and showcase their baking skills.

Furthermore, the Curse of the Dreaming City is now rotating into its second cycle week. What else awaits the Guardians?
Destiny 2 has server issues after update 2.1.2: Numerous players receive the message “Attention, Destiny 2 servers are being contacted” after the latest update. Apparently, Destiny 2 is currently experiencing server problems. Many are receiving error codes Weasel, Chicken, and Centipede.
In a Twitter message, the studio announced that they are already working on it, and the problem is currently under investigation. How long it will take to resolve this issue is not yet known.
Nightfall strikes as of December 11 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC
This week you have the choice between these three Nightfall strikes:
- The Inverted Spire
- Enemy Territory
- Tree of Probabilities
For the Nightfall strikes, a power level of 540 is recommended. Additionally, you can individually adjust the Nightfalls via the challenge card with various modifiers. Importantly: Your equipment remains locked during the Nightfall strike.

Here’s how to get powerful loot:
- Successfully complete the Nightfall strike
- Finish the Nightfall with at least 100,000 points
Strikes and Story Missions
For the heroic story missions the following modifiers apply:
- Solar Singe
- Iron: Enemies have more health and do not stagger when taking damage
- Brawler: Melee abilities deal more damage and recharge much faster
In the Vanguard Strikes you find the same modifiers. The Singe element remains unchanged until the next reset. The other modifiers change daily.
Here’s how to get powerful loot:
- Successfully complete 3 heroic story missions
- Successfully finish 3 heroic strikes with a focus of the same light element as a fireteam member
Crucible Activities and Gambit
In the Crucible you have the following modes to choose from:
- Quickplay
- Competitive
- Rumble
- Mayhem
- Private Match
Here’s how to get powerful loot:
- Complete 5 Crucible matches
- Complete 3 Gambit matches
Escalation Protocol
At the final boss of the Escalation Protocol, there is a chance for:
- the legendary IKELOS Submachine Gun IKELOS_MP_v1.0.1
Flashpoint, Petra, Bounties
The Flashpoint is located this week in the EDZ on Earth. There is also a heroic adventure to complete. A powerful loot awaits for its completion.
Eva Levante can be found right next to Ikora. There are some welcome gifts as well as the first quest of the winter event.
With Ikora Rey you need to complete 20 bounties. For this, you will receive a powerful reward.
With Hawthorne a total of 5,000 clan XP needs to be earned. For this, you will be rewarded with powerful gear. Additionally, there are the weekly raid challenges for clans “Stay Outside” and “To Each Their Own”. If you complete the challenge, a powerful reward awaits.
The Nomad has the weekly bounty “The Traveler’s Power” ready. If you complete this bounty, a powerful reward awaits.
Petra Venj can be found this time directly at the landing zone of the Dreaming City. She has a mission for you where you can snag a powerful engram. If you complete the current ascendant challenge as well as the 8 daily bounties, you will receive a powerful reward for each of these tasks.
With Spider the big bounty “The Eye in the Dark” awaits you. Find and eliminate the fugitive. Then a powerful reward is yours.
The loadout for the prestige raid sections is as follows:
- kinetic auto rifle
- Energy slot auto rifle
- any power weapon
As a modifier, Arsenal is active.
The raid challenge can be found this week in the Circus.
