In Destiny 2 today, on February 5th, the Weekly Reset is upon us. The weekly reset rotates numerous activities such as the Flashpoint and brings new Nightfall strikes and challenges. What new things are there to do this week?
This week, Destiny 2 is taking it rather easy. After the Valentine’s Day event originally scheduled for February 5th “Crimson Days” has been postponed to February 12th, there are no major events or important occurrences planned for the coming 7 days.
However, many Guardians are still attempting the quest for “The Last Word” or getting used to the numerous changes that the big Update 2.1.4 brought last week. Especially regarding the Supers of the different Guardian classes, there have been some notable changes:
- The Nova Warp Warlock is that weak after the Update 2.1.4
- The Striker Titan is that powerful after Update 2.1.4
Nightfall Strikes from February 5th on PS4, Xbox One, and PC
After the reset, Bungie has retroactively changed the Nightfall strikes. You now have the choice between the following three Nightfalls:
- Guardian of Nothing
- The Pyramidion
- Strange Terrain
For these strikes, a Power Level of 540 is recommended, but they are doable in a team even at lower levels. With the Challenge Card, there is also the opportunity to customize the Nightfall strikes with various modifiers according to your preferences. Your loadout should be set before embarking on a Nightfall strike, as your equipment will be locked for its duration.

Here’s how to get powerful loot from the Nightfalls:
- Complete a Nightfall strike
- Complete the Nightfall with at least 100,000 points
Strikes and Story Missions
In the heroic story missions you are faced with the following modifiers:
- Arc Singe
- Iron: Enemies have more health and do not flinch from damage taken
- Grenadier: Grenade abilities deal more damage and recharge much faster
In the Strike playlist the modifiers are identical. Important to note: The burning element is active continuously until the next reset. The other two modifiers rotate daily.

- Master 3 heroic story missions
- Complete 3 heroic strikes with a focus of the same light element as a member of your fireteam
Crucible Activities and Gambit
You can now compete in the Crucible in the following modes:
- Quickplay
- Competitive
- Rumble
- Lockdown
- Private Match
Here’s how to get powerful loot in PvP and Gambit:
- Complete 5 Crucible matches
- Complete 3 Gambit matches
Escalation Protocol
The boss of the Escalation Protocol offers you the chance to obtain the following weapons:
- the legendary sniper rifle IKELOS_SSG_v1.0.1
- the legendary shotgun IKELOS_SF_v1.0.1
- the legendary submachine gun IKELOS_MP_v1.0.1
Flashpoint, Petra, Bounties
Flashpoint is currently on Nessus. There you will also find a heroic adventure that, if successful, yields powerful loot.
To obtain powerful gear from Ikora Rey you need to complete 20 random bounties.
If you manage to earn 5,000 clan XP before the next reset, Hawthorne will reward you with powerful loot. Clan members can secure additional powerful rewards if they successfully complete the weekly raid challenges “Which Witch” and “All for One, One for All”.
The Wanderer offers the weekly bounty “In the Mill”, providing you with powerful gear.
At Ada-1 you can currently find the following powerful weapon rolls:
- Bow
- Sword
- Auto Rifle
Petra Venj can be found at the Pavilion in the area “The Shore”. For a mission, you will receive powerful loot there. For completing the Ascendant challenge as well as the 8 daily bounties, you will receive an additional powerful reward for each. Currently, the 5th Ascendant challenge is active.
Spider offers you the weekly bounty “Drown Summoner“. This way you can earn another powerful reward.
This week, the loadout for the Prestige Raid encounter looks like this:
- a kinetic submachine gun
- any weapon in the energy slot
- a grenade launcher in the power slot
- Modifier: Prism
You can find the raid challenge in the Lust Gardens.
In Eververse there are the following highlights:
- a weapon ornament for the SUROS Regime
- a weapon ornament for the Prometheus Lens
- the exotic emote S’Mores
- the chest armor for the new class sets
