In Destiny 2 today, on October 30, is Weekly Reset. What activities and challenges does the new week bring? What are the new Nightfall Strikes and where is the Flashpoint?
What does the new week bring in Destiny 2? After the Update 2.0.5 the Festival of the Lost now enters its final week. Guardians can still snag all sorts of thematically-inspired loot and try their hand at the Event activity Haunted Forest.
However, today also starts the mysterious quest where a murder case involving the former Reef Cryptarch Master Ives needs to be solved. There are speculations that the Guardians will return to the Cosmodrome on Earth one last time in this context and that at the end of the quest, the first Heavy Machine Gun in Destiny 2 might be waiting – the Thunderlord.
Now it remains to be seen if there is any truth to these rumors. Additionally, the Curse of the Dreaming City goes into its second cycle week. Here’s what else the Guardians can expect:
Nightfall Strikes from 30.10. on PS4, Xbox One and PC
You can choose between three Nightfall Strikes each week. This week there are:
- The Corrupted
- The Arms Dealer
- The Hollowed Out Hideout
The recommended Power Level is 540. Modifiers are only available through the challenge card. Your gear is locked during the activity – so choose wisely.

To get powerful loot, you must:
- Complete the Nightfall Strike
- Complete the Nightfall Strike with at least 100,000 points
Strikes and Story Missions
In the heroic story missions these modifiers are active:
- Solar Singe
- Grounded: Damage taken while in the air is significantly increased
- Juggernaut: Melee abilities deal more damage and recharge much faster
In the Vanguard Strikes the same modifiers as in the heroic story missions are active. You can choose different difficulties, the maximum is “Level 50 – 500 Power”.
While the Singe modifier remains the same throughout the week, the other two modifiers rotate daily.
To get powerful loot, you must:
- Complete 3 heroic story missions
- Complete 3 heroic strikes with a focus on the same light element as a fireteam member
Crucible Activities and Gambit
In the Crucible there are:
- Quickplay
- Competitive
- Rumble
- Survival
- Private Match
To get powerful loot, you must:
- Complete 5 Crucible matches
- Complete 3 Gambit matches
By the way: In Gambit, there is double Infamy from October 30 to November 2, and from November 2 to November 6 even triple Infamy points. A great opportunity for everyone who wants to push their Infamy rank significantly.
Escalation Protocol
If the current rotation is maintained, during the final boss of the Escalation Protocol this week you have the chance to receive the following weapon:
- the legendary IKELOS_SF_v1.0.1 shotgun
Flashpoint, Petra, Bounties and Festival of the Lost
Talk to Amanda Holiday. There you can get the first step of the new mysterious quest “The Lost Cryptarch”. The Event weapon “Scary Tale” is still available.
The Flashpoint is now on Nessus. There is also a heroic adventure that drops Powerful gear.
Ikora Rey allows you to complete 20 bounties for Powerful gear.
Hawthorne allows you to collect 5,000 XP with Clan Bounties for Powerful gear. Additionally, she has the weekly raid challenge “Infinite Battle“, which also drops Powerful gear on successful completion.
At the Nomad, you must complete the weekly bounty “The Power of the Traveler” for powerful gear.
Petra Venj is this time right next to the landing zone of the Dreaming City. She has a mission for which you will earn powerful gear – as well as for the Ascendant Challenge and completing 8 daily bounties. This time the 3rd Ascendant Challenge is active.
Spider offers the bounty Drowned Summoner, which has powerful gear as a reward. You will need 5 Ghost Fragments for that.
The Loadout for the Prestige Raid Sections is this time limited to a kinetic auto rifle, an energy auto rifle, and any weapon in the Power slot. Arsenal is active as a modifier.
The Raid Challenge this time takes place in the Circus .
In the Eververse you can find parts of the Festival armor set (chest and helm), the exotic ship Drifting Shroud, the exotic ghost shell Nine Lives, and the exotic emote Heroic Guitar God.
