For the last time, in 2020, new weekly activities and a fresh trial await today, on December 29th, in Destiny 2 where there is double loot twice, but what else is there to do?
What’s happening in Destiny 2? Today marks the start of the Dawning event in its last week. So you have (for now) the last opportunity to bake cookies and create enough Christmas spirit as a community – even if Bungie has to step in to help the Guardian.
Since the last week has been relatively calm and peaceful, our authors at MeinMMO have stirred up heated discussions with their opinions:
- Spit on me, but Destiny 2 is in a better state at the end of 2020 than in previous years
- Everyone is complaining about missing content in Destiny 2, but I say: Get rid of it!
Today is also the last Weekly Reset for 2020, and we’re looking at what there is to do. You can grab double rewards in Nightfall all week long. If you also reach the Platinum tier, meaning you defeat all Champions, you will earn double loot again.

In Nightfall: The Trial you will face the new “Beyond Light” strike
- Glassway
You adjust the difficulty yourself in this activity and thus determine your loot quality.
Playlist Strikes are available with these modifiers:
- Solar Singe
- Stasis Burn
- Iron
As always, the Singe modifier will remain active throughout the week. The other modifiers will rotate daily.

- Private Match
- Rumble
- Control
- Elimination
- Survival
- Survival: Freelance
Petra Venj will be waiting this week (Curse Week 1) in the area “The Shore” in the Dreaming City. Furthermore, the 2nd Ascendant Challenge is currently active.

This is how Powerful loot is structured in Destiny 2: Powerful loot comes in several tiers that provide you with different power boosts. Accordingly, higher tiers grant higher power boosts.
- Tier 1 (up to +3 above the current power level)
- Tier 2 (up to +4 above the current power level)
- Tier 3 (up to +5 above the current power level)
- Top Gear (+5 or more above the power level. The only gear that goes over 1250 and up to a maximum of 1260 – after that, the level jumps decrease, +1)
