In Destiny 2, today, January 29, is Weekly Reset. Update 2.1.4 is live and brings the latest content from the Black Armory into play. Additionally, activities are rotating. There are new challenges, Nightfall strikes, and a new Flashpoint.
After a maintenance-related delay due to the Update 2.1.4, a new week begins in the Destiny universe.
For all owners of the Annual Pass, the exotic quest “The Draw” is available. The quest is intended to lead Guardians to the exotic hand cannon “The Last Word” and represents the final scheduled content from the first premium DLC “The Black Armory”.
Moreover, the Curse of the Forsaken in the Dreaming City has reached the third cycle week. The Broken Throne is therefore active, and Guardians have the opportunity to earn the exotic bow Wishender.
If you still lack the Infraction, you have the highest chances this week to receive the corresponding quest from the specific Ancient in Gambit.
By the way: The quest for the exotic sniper Whisper of the Worm is now permanently available.
Nightfall Strikes from 01.29 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC
The following three Nightfall strikes can be tackled this week:
- A Garden World
- Sea of Shadows
- Will of the Thousands
A power level of 540 is recommended for it. If you want to adjust the Nightfall strikes with additional modifiers, you can do so via the corresponding challenge card. Remember that during a Nightfall, your gear is locked. So think about your loadout in advance.

This is how to get Powerful Items:
- Complete a Nightfall strike
- Complete the Nightfall with at least 100,000 points
Strikes and Story Missions
These modifiers are active in the daily heroic story missions:
- Void Singe
- Blackout: Enemy melee attacks are significantly stronger, and the radar is disabled
- Heavyweight: Power weapons do more damage and more ammunition is available
In the Strike Vanguard, the same modifiers await you.
Important: The Singe element remains active until the next reset on February 5. The other two modifiers change daily.
This is how to get Powerful Items:
- Successfully complete 3 heroic story missions
- Successfully complete 3 heroic strikes with a focus of the same light element as a member of your fireteam
Crucible Activities and Gambit
Here’s what’s happening this week in PvP:
- Quickplay
- Competitive
- Rumble
- Trial by Fire (There may still be Breakthrough active, but that will be fixed)
- Private Match

Escalation Protocol
Against the boss of the Escalation Protocol, you can earn the following weapons this week:
- the legendary sniper rifle IKELOS_SSG_v1.0.1
- the legendary shotgun IKELOS_SF_v1.0.1
- the legendary submachine gun IKELOS_MP_v1.0.1
Flashpoint, Petra, Bounties
The Flashpoint this week is located in the EDZ on Earth. There you will also find a heroic adventure. You can expect powerful loot just like in the Flashpoint.
For a powerful reward from Ikora Rey, you must successfully complete 20 random bounties.
For 5,000 Clan XP, Hawthorne will reward you with powerful loot. Clan members can also take on the weekly raid challenges “Summoning Ritual” and “Stay on Target” to earn two additional powerful gear pieces.
The Nomad has the weekly bounty “Hurry Up” ready for you. If you complete this bounty, you will receive powerful gear. Additionally, you will also get the first quest step for the new exotic hand cannon “The Last Word”.
Ada-1 is offering the following powerful weapon frames this week:
- Pulse Rifle
- Sword
- Hand Cannon
Petra Venj is in the Rheasilvia area of the Dreaming City. There’s a mission with powerful rewards. For the Ascendant challenge and the 8 daily bounties, you will receive two additional powerful items. Currently, the 4th Ascendant Challenge is active.
At Spider, you will find the great weekly bounty “The Eye in the Darkness“, which offers powerful loot.
This is the loadout for the Prestige raid encounters:
- a kinetic pistol
- a scout rifle in the energy slot
- a sword in the power slot
- Modifier: Gladiator
The raid challenge is set in the Royal Baths.
In the Eververse this week, you can find among other items:
- a weapon ornament for the Polaris Lance
- a weapon ornament for the Colony
- an armor ornament for Ahamkara’s Spine
- the exotic Sparrow Near Infinity
