Today, on July 28, it’s time for the Weekly Reset in Destiny 2 which brings new weekly challenges, Nightfall strikes, and a fresh Flashpoint for Guardians. But what else is there for the Guardians to do?
What’s happening in Destiny 2? Destiny director Luke Smith has revealed that new Ice enemies are expected in Year 4. This means he denies the speculations about a new Darkness race for now.
Additionally, the weekly interference mission continues today. Maybe the secret boss will appear this week, whose discoverer was recently banned.
But first, let’s look at the new activities and reveal what Guardians can do.

These Nightfalls are available: In the regular Nightfall (Power level 820), you can choose from these Nightfall strikes:
- The Terminus of Insight
- The Pyramidion
- The Hollow Nest
In Nightfall: The Trial by Fire the strike is:
- Savathun’s Song
active.
Strikes and story missions are available with the following modifiers:
- Void Singe
- Iron
- Heavyweight
Where the Singe modifier remains identical until the next Weekly Reset. The other two modifiers change daily.
Crucible: In PvP, these modes are available:
- Private Match (Core Playlist)
- Rumble (Core Playlist)
- Control (Core Playlist)
- Mayhem (Rotational Playlist)
- Breakthrough (Rotational Playlist)
- Elimination (Core Playlist)
- Survival (Core Playlist)
- Survival: Freelance (Core Playlist)
- Classic Mix (Core Playlist)
Showdown: These modifiers are active:
- Solar Singe
- Heavyweight
Escalation Protocol: The weapons of Escalation Protocol can be earned in Season 11 from the Contact event and the Prophecy dungeon in the current version with additional perks and mod slots. The armor is still only available through the activity on Mars, but has also been available in “Armor 2.0” variant for some time now.
The current Flashpoint is located in the Tangled Shore.
Petra Venj can be found (Curse Week 3) in the area “Rheasilvia”. Additionally, the 4th Ascendant Challenge is active.

Here’s how Powerful Loot is structured in Destiny 2: Powerful loot comes in several tiers, providing different power boosts. Consequently, higher tiers also grant higher power boosts.
- Tier 1 (up to +3 over the current power level)
- Tier 2 (up to +4 over the current power level)
- Tier 3 (up to +5 over the current power level)
- Exotic Gear (+5 or more over the power level. The only gear that goes over 1050 and up to a maximum of 1060)
For your information: Power levels gained through the new artifact “Seed of the Silver Wings” will not be considered for calculating the power levels of your drops. The average of your gear and weapons is crucial here.
