Finally, the long-awaited launch of the new DLC “Lightfall” has arrived in Destiny 2. While the servers were offline for 24 hours, the excitement among the Guardians has grown larger. We give you an initial overview of the activities in this first Neomuna week.
This week: Guardians in Destiny 2 will explore the new Neptune city of Neomuna for the first time this week. And there is a lot to discover, as the city is huge.
- There will be a new campaign for the coolest story in the universe.
- Lightfall brings a new ability called “Strand” into play. With it, players can swing through the air and explore not only Neomuna but all locations of the shooter freely.
- Brand new enemies will challenge players and try to take the light away from them.
- Many new activities are coming, such as the new Raid “Root of Nightmares”
- Additionally, Destiny 2 is a game that never stands still, as Bungie reliably supplies the shooter with fresh story content, new loot, and cool missions every three months.
Season 20 starts today: Along with the new DLC, the content from Season 20 will also come. The Witness and Calus have expanded their influence over the planet Neptune and begun the invasion of Earth. It is time to draw a line, and Mara Sov will help you with that.
This new trailer for the “Season of Resistance” gives you a first taste of Season 20:
Grandiose endtime story impresses players: In Lightfall, exactly what has been announced since the days of Destiny 1 is happening. The Traveler must face its enemy. Light against Darkness. And this is not only exciting for Destiny veterans.
Bungie is currently concluding the largest story in the Destiny universe in its loot shooter. Players can expect a grand showdown in space with everything the studio has to offer in terms of storytelling and visuals. So, if you’ve always wanted to be part of the downfall of the universe – Lightfall is the best opportunity for that.
The most important information about activities from 28.02. to 07.03.
Vanguard: Nightfall – The Trial by Fire
- Trial Grounds, in the massive land tank of the Cabal on Nessus
- Guardians have proven themselves on Cabal battlefields and have beaten their way through the ranks of the Cabal to finally face the champion of the Emperor in the “final trial”. But he throws seeking solar balls and uses his Cabal bubble for protection.
Playlist Strikes have the following modifiers this week:
- Stasis Wave
- Heavyweight
- Void Threat
- Power level disabled
This changes in Lightfall with the Nightfalls: The Vanguard challenges will be adjusted to incorporate these changes in Lightfall. In addition, Bungie will integrate scoring into the Vanguard Ops playlist.
- The higher your score, the larger the multiplier for your Vanguard rank.
To complete the weekly Vanguard challenge, you now need to do the following:
- Complete Vanguard activities with the Strand focus.
- These can either be the seasonal Strands for Nightfalls or the weekly Strands for Vanguard Ops.
- Complete five activities.
- At higher difficulty levels, there will be more progress.
- A single pinnacle Nightfall also completes this challenge. However, it will not be available in the game again until April 11, 2023.
Endgame: Raid Challenges and Dungeon Rotation
- The weekly legacy raid is “Last Wish” in the Dreaming City
- In addition, there is extra pinnacle loot in the dungeon “Prophecy”.
Bungie will expand these content rotations further starting in Season 22. Players will then be able to play raids and dungeons as “legacy”, as well as old exotic missions.
Crucible – This is the rotating PvP activity:
- Equip your new Currulli weapons and attack opposing Guardians in “Rift”
Weekly Activities
Here come the most important activities of this week. Guardians will be able to explore the new Lightfall campaign starting now. In Year 6, the Witness, instead of Savathun, is now in charge as the main antagonist in Destiny 2.
Neomuna – Weekly Campaign Mission
- “First Contact”
- In the first mission, you make first contact and get to know Strand for the very first time while wandering through Neomuna with your Guardian. Strand is the new subclass from Lightfall, and there’s still something you need to do…

If you need triumphs from the Dreaming City, pay attention. The third tier of corruption reveals new avenues with a sip of “Queen’s Leaf Tincture”.
- Petra Venj can now be found in the Dreaming City right at Rheasilvia – as always during the 3rd curse week. At the same time, the 1st Ascendant Challenge is active.
