In Destiny 2 today, on December 24th, the Weekly Reset is scheduled. Correspondingly, the Christmas event “The Dawning” continues. Additionally, the last Iron Banner of 2019 begins. Read what else awaits you this week.
It’s Christmas and not just in Destiny 2: Celebrate in the Destiny universe the dreamy Winter Event “The Dawning”. Enjoy a festively decorated Tower and at least some virtual snow. In true holiday tradition, you bake cookies and gift your favorite NPCs.
If you don’t like the contemplative and ignore a silent Christmas, then let loose in the Iron Banner. What rewards does Lord Saladin offer? We have this and other aspects of the last PvP event of the year covered for you.
What do you think, does the cozy gathering call an old acquaintance back to the plan? If you want to fiddle a bit with the timeline, you will face a new boss in the Sundial.
Was that all there is to do this week? No, of course not. Here are the key details about the rotating activities and rewards.

These are the sources for Powerful Loot in Season 9 of Destiny 2
Help out: At the start of the Season of Dawn, some aspects may have changed that we might have overlooked and therefore have not taken into account below. If your trained eye catches a mistake or a change, let us know.
This is how Powerful Loot is structured in Destiny 2: Powerful gear is not the same as Powerful gear. There are different tiers of rewards. The higher tier offers you increasingly larger power level jumps.
- Tier 1 (up to +3 over the current power level)
- Tier 2 (up to +4 over the current power level)
- Tier 3 (up to +5 over the current power level)
- Peak Gear (+5 or more over the power level. The only gear that goes above 960 and up to a maximum of 970. From 960 up to +2 power)
The level bonus from the Seasonal Artifact does not count in the calculation of the average power level. Here, the average of the gear and weapons is crucial.
