In Destiny 2 today, on October 23rd, is the Weekly Reset. What activities and challenges does the new week bring? What are the new Nightfall strikes and where is the Flashpoint?
What does the new week bring in Destiny 2? The Festival of the Lost is in full swing. During the Halloween festivities, Guardians can grab all sorts of thematically-inspired loot and try out the new event activity Haunted Forest. Additionally, the Curse of the Forsaken in the Dreaming City is fading, and the cycle is once again entering its first week.
This is what Guardians can expect:
Nightfall strikes since October 23rd on PS4, Xbox One, and PC
You can choose between three Nightfall strikes each week. This week’s strikes are:
- The Insight Terminus
- The Arms Dealer
- The Hollowed Lair
The recommended power level is 540. Modifiers are only available through the challenge card. Your gear is locked during the activity – choose wisely.

To earn powerful loot you must:
- Complete the Nightfall strike
- Complete the Nightfall strike with at least 100,000 points
Strikes and Story Missions
In the heroic story missions the following modifiers are active:
- Arc Singe
- Glass: Health and shields are reduced by half, but recovery is twice as fast
- Grenadier: Grenade abilities deal more damage and recharge much faster
In the Vanguard Strikes the same modifiers as in the heroic story missions are active. You can choose various difficulties, the maximum is “Level 50 – 500 Power”.
While the Singe modifier remains the same throughout the week, the other two modifiers change daily.
To earn powerful loot you must:
- Complete 3 heroic story missions
- Complete 3 heroic strikes with a focus on the same light element as a fireteam member
Crucible Activities and Gambit
In the Crucible there are:
- Quickplay
- Competitive
- Rumble
- Doubles
- Private Match
To earn powerful loot you must:
- Complete 5 Crucible matches
- Complete 3 Gambit matches
Escalation Protocol
If the current rotation remains, you will have the chance to get the following three weapons from the end boss of the Escalation Protocol this week:
- the legendary sniper rifle IKELOS_SSG_v1.0.1
- the legendary shotgun IKELOS_SF_v1.0.1
- the legendary SMG IKELOS_MP_v1.0.1
Flashpoint, Petra, Bounties, and Festival of the Lost
If you haven’t done it yet: Talk to Amanda Holiday. There’s a gift and the first step of the festival quest for everyone who hasn’t started this task yet. And don’t worry – The event weapon “Chilling Story” is still there.
The Flashpoint is today in the EDZ on Earth. There is also a heroic adventure that drops powerful gear.
Ikora Rey lets you complete 20 bounties for powerful gear.
Hawthorne lets you gather 5,000 XP with clan bounties for powerful gear. Additionally, she offers the weekly raid challenge “Endless Battle”, which also drops powerful gear when successfully completed.
At the Vendor you can undertake the weekly bounty “In the Mill” for powerful gear.
Petra Venj is this time by the pavilion in the area “The Shore”. She has a mission for which you will receive powerful gear – as well as for the Ascendant Challenge and the completion of 8 daily bounties. This time, the Ascendant Challenge of the week 2 is active.
Spider offers the bounty Silent Reaper, which has powerful gear as a reward. You need 5 Spirit Fragments for that.
The loadout for the prestige raid challenges is this time restricted to a kinetic hand cannon, an energy sniper rifle, and any weapon in the power slot. The modifier is Prism.
The raid challenge takes place this time in the Royal Baths.
In the Eververse, you’ll find among other things parts of the Festival armor set (chest and leg pieces), the exotic Sparrow Winchester’s Ruin, and the exotic Ghost shell Stonework Amalgam.
