The Weekly Reset brings players in Destiny 2 today, on October 20th, new weekly activities, fresh Nightfall Strikes and a new Flashpoint. But what can the Guardians accomplish beyond that?
What’s going on in Destiny 2? The new Destiny week starts with Update 2.9.2.2 and the associated maintenance work including downtime. However, the servers should now be online again and the Guardians can dive into the content of the new week.
Which also includes the “Festival of the Lost 2020“, which is still ongoing. Some Guardians even speculate that there might be an event within the event. What Bungie has to say about this, you can read here.
It is also exciting that Bungie has achieved an important victory against cheaters. A major cheat software provider has now given up.

But today, the Weekly Reset is on the agenda and we will look at what the Guardians can accomplish in the new Destiny week.

These Nightfalls are available this week: In the regular Nightfall (Power Level 820), you can choose from these Nightfall Strikes:
- The Terminus of Insight
- Tree of Probabilities
- The Hollow Hideout
In Nightfall: The Trial by Fire the strike
- Savathûn’s Song
In Strikes and Story Missions these modifiers are activated:
- Void Scorch
- Iron
- Heavyweight
It should be noted that the Scorch modifier does not change throughout the week. However, the other modifiers rotate daily.
Crucible: These playlists and modes are available in PvP:
- Private Match (Core Playlist)
- Rumble (Core Playlist)
- Control (Core Playlist)
- Dynamic Control (Rotating Playlist)
- Breakthrough (Rotating Playlist)
- Elimination (Core Playlist)
- Survival (Core Playlist)
- Survival: Freelance (Core Playlist)

- Solar Scorch
- Heavyweight
Escalation Protocol: In the current version with additional perks and mod slots, you can find the weapons of the Escalation Protocol at the Contact Event and the Prophecy Dungeon. The armor is still only available through the activity on Mars, but for some time now also in the “Armor 2.0” variant.

Petra Venj can be found (Curse Week 3) in the area “Rheasilvia”. Additionally, the 4th Ascendant Challenge is active.

This is how Powerful Loot is structured in Destiny 2: Powerful loot comes in several tiers, granting different power boosts. Accordingly, higher tiers grant you higher power boosts.
- Tier 1 (up to +3 above the current power level)
- Tier 2 (up to +4 above the current power level)
- Tier 3 (up to +5 above the current power level)
- Exotic Gear (+5 or more over the power level. The only gear that goes above 1050 and up to a maximum of 1060)
For your information: Power levels obtained through the new Artifact “Seed of the Silver Wings” are not considered for the calculation of your drops’ power levels. Here, the average of gear and weapons is decisive.

- Clan Reward from Hawthorne (power boost of +2)
