In Destiny 2, today, on October 16th, the Weekly Reset occurs again. The Festival of the Lost and Iron Banner are now live. What activities and challenges does the new week bring? What are the new Nightfall strikes and where is the Flashpoint?
A new week dawns in the Destiny universe. And this time it really has a lot in store – the Guardians will have their hands full. After you have downloaded and installed the Update 2.0.4, you can look forward to the following this week:
- The Halloween event Festival of the Lost is being celebrated in Destiny 2 for the first time
- The Iron Banner returns – in improved form
In addition, the Curse of the Forsaken in the Dreaming City enters its 3rd week, reaching its peak once again. So you have another week to chase the exotic bow Wishender and better chances to obtain the hand cannon Service Revolver.
Nightfall strikes from October 16th on PS4, Xbox One, and PC
You can choose between three Nightfall strikes each week. This week there are:
- Guardians of Nothing
- Lake of Shadows
- The Hollow Hideout
The recommended power level is 540. Modifiers are only available through the challenge card. Your gear is locked during the activity – so choose wisely.

To get powerful loot you must:
- Complete the Nightfall strike
- Complete the Nightfall strike with at least 100,000 points
Strikes and Story Missions
In the heroic story missions these modifiers are active:
- Void Burn
- Iron: Enemies have more health and do not stagger from damage
- Heavyweight: Power weapons do more damage and more ammunition is available
For the Strike missions the same modifiers as in the heroic story missions are active. You can select different difficulties, the maximum is “Level 50 – 500 Power”.
While the Burn modifier remains the same throughout the week, the other two modifiers change daily.
To get powerful loot you must:
- Complete 3 heroic story missions
- Complete 3 heroic strikes with a focus on the same light element as a fireteam member
Crucible Activities and Gambit
In the Crucible there are:
- Quickplay
- Competitive
- Rumble
- Iron Banner
- Private Match
To get powerful loot you must:
- Complete 5 Crucible matches
- Complete 3 Gambit matches
By the way – This week you can earn more Valor in the Crucible:
- From October 16th to October 19th there is double Valor
- From October 19th to October 23rd there is triple Valor
Escalation Protocol
If the current rotation is maintained, you have a chance at the end boss of the Escalation Protocol this week to obtain the following three weapons:
- the legendary Sniper Rifle IKELOS_SSG_v1.0.1
- the legendary Shotgun IKELOS_SF_v1.0.1
- the legendary Submachine Gun IKELOS_MP_v1.0.1
Flashpoint, Petra, Bounty and Festival of the Lost
Speak to Amanda Holiday. There is a gift and the first step for the Festival Quest.
The Flashpoint is on Mars starting today. There is also a heroic adventure that lets you obtain powerful gear.
Ikora Rey lets you complete 20 Bounties for powerful gear.
Hawthorne lets you earn 5000 XP with Clan Bounties for powerful gear. Additionally, she has the weekly Raid Challenge “Summoning Ritual,” which also drops powerful gear upon successful completion.
Lord Saladin is located in the Tower above the Gunsmith and has 7 Iron Banner Bounties for you, all of which grant powerful gear.
At the Spider, you can complete the weekly Bounty “Come on” for powerful gear.
Petra Venj is this time located in Rheasilvia. She has the mission Dark Monastery for you. You’ll receive powerful gear for this as well as for the Ascendant Challenge and the completion of 8 daily Bounties. This time the Ascendant Challenge of Week 1 is active.
Spider offers the Bounty Bloodspalter that has powerful gear as a reward. You need 5 Ghost Fragments for it.
The Loadout for the Prestige Raid encounters is this time restricted to a kinetic shotgun, an energy auto rifle, and a rocket launcher in the power slot. The modifier Gladiator is active.
The Raid Challenge takes place this time in the Garden of Salvation .
In the Eververse, there is a challenge from Tess called “The Eververse Remembers,” in which you need to wear a Festival Mask. Additionally, there are parts of the Festival Armor Set, the exotic ship Infested Seeker, and the exotic Ghost shell Ocular Strength, among others.
