Today, on 13.08, the Weekly Reset takes place in Destiny 2. For the Guardians, this means: There are new weekly activities and challenges! Additionally, new Nightfall Strikes and a new Flashpoint are available.
The Guardians have an exciting week ahead filled with information about Shadowkeep. In various blog posts and a live stream, the developers will reveal more about the major autumn expansion. But first, the new Destiny week starts with an update and associated downtime. At 7:00 PM, the Guardians should be able to start playing again. The end of the maintenance work is scheduled for 8:00 PM, until then there might still be issues with logging in. However, there will be a welcome change for the Summer Solstice of Heroes: Destiny 2 is actually easing the most annoying grind of the summer event
What else is new for the Guardians to do this week?
Nightfall Strikes from 13.08. on PS4, Xbox One, and PC
These Nightfalls are currently available:
- Terminus of Insight
- The Twisted Pillar
- Tree of Probabilities

For Powerful Loot:
- Successfully complete a Nightfall
- Successfully complete a Nightfall with at least 100,000 points
Strikes and Story Missions
These modifiers are active in the Vanguard Strikes and heroic Story Missions:
- Arc Burn
- Blackout
- Grenadier
The burn modifier remains active the whole week. The other modifiers change daily.
For Powerful Loot:
- Complete 3 heroic Story Missions
- Complete 3 heroic Strikes with the focus element matching the active burn element
Crucible, Gambit, Gambit Prime, Reckoning
You have a choice between these PvP modes:
- Quickplay
- Competitive
- Breakthrough
- Rumble
- Private Match
The modifiers for Reckoning:
- Arc Burn
- Blackout
- Fists of Havoc
For Powerful Loot:
- Participate in 5 Crucible Matches
- Participate in 3 Gambit Matches
- Participate in 4 Gambit Prime Matches
- Successfully complete Reckoning runs (up to 100%)
The Wanderer rewards you with a Powerful reward when you complete the bounty “In the Mill.”
Escalation Protocol
The following weapon is available this week at the final boss of the Escalation Protocol on Mars:
- the legendary submachine gun IKELOS_MP_v1.0.1
Flashpoint, Werner/Benedict 99-40, Ada-1, Petra, Spider
The Flashpoint can be found this week in the EDZ on Earth. Complete this along with the associated adventure to receive 2 Powerful rewards
At Werner/Benedict 99-40, there are 4 new weekly bounties to choose from, each rewarded with a Powerful prize. However, if you complete all 4 bounties, you will receive another Powerful reward. Additionally, you can earn 3 more Powerful items in the Menagerie. However, you should have made the necessary upgrades to your Chalice of Opulence beforehand.
At Ada-1, all powerful weapon schematics are available.
Ikora Rey rewards the completion of 20 arbitrary bounties this week with a Powerful prize.
You will also be rewarded powerfully if you collect 5,000 Clan XP for Hawthorne this week. Additionally, you can tackle the bounties “Staying Outside”, “All for One, One for All”, “Perfect Victory” and “A Troubling Affair”. Each bounty also brings you a Powerful reward.
You can currently find Petra Venj (Curse Week 1) at the Pavilion in the area “The Shore”. If you complete Petra’s mission, the Ascendant Challenge, and a total of 8 of her daily bounties, you will get a Powerful item for each of these tasks. By the way, the 2nd Ascendant Challenge is live this week.
Spider has the weekly bounty “Bloodsplitter” for you. This brings another Powerful reward.
