Season 21 in Destiny 2 has completed the story, and currently the Guardians are dealing with the new Exo “Malicious Tool” and the question: Where do you get your catalyst? MeinMMO tells you what the prospects are this week and what else you can accomplish.
This is happening this week: Most players have already completed the seasonal story of Season 21 and have secured the title “Aquanaut“.
After that, only the hunt for the new season Exo “Malicious Tool” was in sight, which kept some on their toes with its spicy challenge from Miss “AlwaysScreamAtMe“.
Meanwhile, many Guardians already have the weapon in hand and are now asking: Where do I get the catalyst for “Malicious Tool”? However, this question can be answered this week.
- The catalyst can be obtained from the dives. However, only, if you reach Tier 7.
Otherwise, you can meet Lord Saladin, as he is hosting the last Iron Banner of Season 21. So if you are still missing the nice emblem, or if you want to fill gaps in your Iron Banner armor collection, or if you are still looking for the God Rolls of the Iron Banner weapons – this week is the last opportunity.
Other things were not so pleasant this week, as the community has announced the tragic loss of a friend which brought the Guardians in Destiny 2 together to be there for each other and to commemorate those who had to leave.

Vanguard: Nightfall – The Fire Trial
- The Corrupted, in the Dreaming City
- The Guardians must find one of Queen Mara’s closest advisors, Sedia, and free her from the control of the Taken.
Crucible – This is the rotating PvP activity
- The two modes Control and Clash are running this week in PvP.
Endgame: Raid Challenges and Dungeon Rotation
Farmable Endgame on a weekly rotation: In the further endgame wait the Legacy Rotations. This means both the rotating raid and the rotating dungeon are farmable. You can repeatedly complete the individual encounters to receive various items and complete your collection. Including possible Exotics that are available in these contents.
- The weekly Legacy Raid is the “Garden of Salvation” with the supporter Exo “Divinity”.
- Additionally, there is in the dungeon “Exponential of the Guardian” extra top-tier loot with the Exo-bow “Hierarchy of Claims”.
Bungie will further expand activity rotations of content starting in Season 22. Players will then be able not only to play raids and dungeons as “Legacy”, but also old Exotic missions.
Weekly Activities
With the weekly reset, several activities and challenges have been updated again, offering players a variety of rewards and progress, making them better Guardians through repetition.
- In the new Season 21, the Guardians must dive to the ocean floor of Titan, which is infested by Taken and the Hive. They search on the bottom of its methane ocean for something. This promises the solution to ancient secrets and further information about the origins of the Witness.
Lightfall – Weekly Campaign Mission

- The Guardians must go deep underground in Lightfall to breach the “Veil”. They receive support from Caiatl’s troops in an epic battle at the gates of the Ishtar facility.
Ascendant Challenge – Dreaming City
If you still need triumphs from the Dreaming City, then pay attention: The Corruption reveals you new accesses with a sip of “Queen’s Leaf Tincture”.
- Petra Venj has the 2nd Ascendant Challenge for you this week. You can find Petra and her quest offer at the location “The Shore” in the Dreaming City. Here too, Savathun has her fingers in the pie, as the curse begins to reclaim the holy city of the Awoken at level 1.

This is the new max level: In the new Season of Depth (Season 21), the power level does not increase further. The maximum power level of your gear that you can reach remains at 1,810, and you can enjoy the new seasonal contents chill and stress-free and greatly replenish your resources through the fishing activity.
- In Lightfall, new Guardians start at power level 1,600.
- The soft cap is at 1,750.
- The powerful cap is at 1,800.
