In Destiny 2, the weekly reset is today, September 25th. Which activities and challenges, such as the Nightfall strike or the Flashpoint, are live now?
Iron Banner ends: Just in time for the weekly reset, the first Iron Banner event in Forsaken has ended. For a week, you could have fun in the Crucible, wiping out other Guardians with low power levels.
If you are among the Guardians with low power levels, then you had no chance of winning, but at least you had a chance at one or another new Iron Banner weapon.
Breakthrough starts: Following the Iron Banner, a new PvP mode starts at 7 PM today, which can be launched through the weekly PvP playlist. The week after, it will move to the competitive playlist. It’s called “Breakthrough” – we present this mode in detail here.

Nightfall strikes starting September 25th on PS4, Xbox One, and PC
You can choose between three Nightfall strikes each week. This week, there are:
- The Corrupted – Strike in the Dreaming City
- The Twisted Tower
- Unknown Terrain
The recommended power level is 540. Modifiers are only available through the challenge card. Your gear is locked during the activity – choose wisely.
To get powerful loot, you must:
- Complete the Nightfall strike
- Complete the Nightfall strike with at least 100,000 points
Strikes and Story Missions
In the heroic story missions these modifiers are active:
- Void Burn
- Glass: Health and shields reduced by half, but recovery is twice as fast
- Heavyweight: Power weapons deal more damage and more ammo is available
In the Vanguard strikes, the same modifiers as in the heroic story missions are active. You can choose different difficulties, the maximum is “Level 50 – 500 Power”.
While the Burn modifier remains the same all week, the other two modifiers change daily.
To get powerful loot, you must:
- Complete 3 heroic story missions
- Complete 3 heroic strikes with a focus on the same light element as a fireteam member
Crucible Activities and Gambit
In the Crucible, there are:
- Quick Play
- Competitive
- Rumble
- Breakthrough 4v4
- Private Match
To get powerful loot, you must:
- Complete 5 Crucible matches
- Complete 3 Gambit matches
Additionally, today, September 25th, there is the daily challenge in Gambit. Complete a match for powerful gear.
Escalation Protocol
If the current rotation continues, you have a chance at the following weapon from the final boss of the Escalation Protocol this week:
- the legendary shotgun IKELOS_SF_v1.0.1
Flashpoint, Petra, and Bounties
The Flashpoint is on Io starting today. There’s also a heroic adventure that drops powerful gear.
Ikora Rey lets you complete 20 bounties for powerful gear.
Hawthorne lets you gather 5000 XP with clan bounties for powerful gear.
Petra Venj is located this time in Rheasilvia. This is at least shown on the map. However, she is still in the spawn area for me just like last week. You can complete 2 weekly bounties with her for powerful gear. She has a new story mission titled “The Dark Monastery.” For this, you will receive powerful gear just like for the Ascendant challenge and for completing 8 daily bounties.
Update: In Rheasilvia, she is now here for me as well. It seems there was a bug when the weekly reset happened. The curse has now spread significantly in the Dreaming City. Many Taken Essence are floating in the air.
Spider has a new bounty that has not existed before: Kill the Hivespider Summoner for powerful gear. You need 5 Ghost Fragments for this.
At the Wanderer, you can collect 12 points in Gambit for powerful gear. Wins are worth 3 points, losses give one point.
In the Eververse, there’s the exotic Feathered Fancy emote, where you pet a chicken. Additionally, there are ornaments for ACD/0 Feedback Fence, the Tractor Cannon, and Crimson.
