In Destiny 2, today is the Weekly Reset on October 2nd. What activities and challenges are live now? What are the new Nightfall Strikes and where is the Flashpoint?
It’s time – a new week begins in the Destiny universe. After the curse reached its peak in the Dreaming City last week, it now recedes with today’s weekly reset, and the Dreaming City changes its appearance once again.

Nightfall Strikes from October 2nd on PS4, Xbox One, and PC
You can choose between three Nightfall Strikes each week. This week there are:
- Sea of Shadows
- Tree of Probabilities
- The Arms Dealer
The recommended power level is 540. Modifiers are only available through the challenge card. Your gear is locked during the activity – so choose wisely.
To get powerful loot, you need to:
- Complete the Nightfall Strike
- Complete the Nightfall Strike with at least 100,000 points
Strikes and Story Missions
In the Heroic Story Missions these modifiers are active:
- Arc Burn
- Grounded: Damage taken while airborne is significantly increased
- Grenadier: Grenade abilities deal more damage and recharge much faster
In the Vanguard Strikes, the same modifiers as in the Heroic Story Missions are active. You can select different difficulties, with the maximum being “Level 50 – 500 Power”.
While the burn modifier remains the same throughout the week, the other two modifiers rotate daily.
To get powerful loot, you need to:
- Complete 3 Heroic Story Missions
- Complete 3 Heroic Strikes with a focus on the same Light element as a fireteam member
Crucible Activities and Gambit
In the Crucible, there is:
- Quick Play
- Competitive
- Rumble
- Doubles
- Private Match
To get powerful loot, you need to:
- Complete 5 Crucible Matches
- Complete 3 Gambit Matches
Escalation Protocol
If the current rotation is maintained, you have the chance to obtain the following weapon from the End Boss of the Escalation Protocol this week:
- the legendary submachine gun IKELOS_MP_v1.0.1
Flashpoint, Petra, and Bounties
The Flashpoint is on Mercury starting today. There is also a Heroic adventure that drops Powerful gear.
Ikora Rey allows you to complete 20 bounties for Powerful gear.
Hawthorne lets you collect 5000 XP with Clan Bounties for Powerful gear. Additionally, she has the weekly bounty “Which Witch” that also drops Powerful gear upon successful completion.
Petra Venj is back by the Pavilion in the area “The Shore”. She has a mission that rewards you with Powerful gear – as well as the Ascendant Challenge and completing 8 daily bounties.
At the Spider, you can complete the weekly bounty “In the Mill” for Powerful gear. There, you need to collect points by defeating enemies and Guardians and turning in motes.
Spider offers the bounty Researcher of the Depths, which has Powerful gear as a reward. You need 5 Ghost Fragments for this.
The loadout for the Prestige Raid encounters is limited this time to a kinetic submachine gun, any energy weapon, and a grenade launcher in the power slot. The modifier is Prism.
The raid challenge takes place this time in the Garden of Salvation.
In the Eververse, there’s the exotic Sparrow War Horse. There are also ornaments for the exotic fusion rifle Telesto and the legendary hand cannon Trust. Additionally, Tess has the gauntlets for the new class sets on offer.
