Bungie reveals more information about the PC version at Gamescom. There are updates regarding the controls on PC and what adjustments were necessary compared to the consoles.
Due to the more precise control with mouse and keyboard, some players feared that the content of Destiny 2 could become too easy on PC. Does this circumstance lead to separate balancing on the platforms?
Controller versus Mouse and Keyboard
The majority of the balancing revolves around Justin Truman, the Gameplay Lead at Bungie, not about “PC versus console”, but rather “controller versus mouse and keyboard“. Adjustments were made in the PC version so that mouse and keyboard would feel “right”.
This includes a series of smaller adjustments, such as the positioning of the crosshair on the screen, the recoil behavior, and the vibration effect, which is not present on PC.

According to Truman, it is less about logical, comprehensible algorithms, but rather about the right feeling one has while gaming.
Instant Switching Between Controller and Mouse and Keyboard
PC players are not forced to use just one input device. You can use both mouse and keyboard while keeping the connected controller nearby.
You can now easily switch between the peripherals. The game automatically recognizes which device you are interacting with and makes the necessary adjustments automatically.

The Beta on PC is Under Close Observation
Truman further states that Bungie wants to use the beta on PC, which starts next week, to make final adjustments. All aspects are closely monitored. In particular, the feedback from players regarding weapon behavior and controls will be examined in detail.
Those who want to get a glimpse of Destiny 2 on PC can do so starting August 29 in the open beta.
