Bungie announced changes for the PvP mode in Destiny 2 in advance. However, not much was revealed, but a hint in the TWaB and a potential leak now suggest adjustments in the Iron Banner. We show you everything we know about it.
What did Bungie announce? In the new TWaB, Bungie announced that the Glory Rank reputation system will be revamped. Players will no longer have to go through the grueling grind, as for the rare seal “Unbroken”. Instead, the title will be removed in Season 19.
Players will then receive a seal that can be earned with less effort. More information will follow at a later time.
A small part in the TWaB, written in German as “heulen” in italics, indicates that the Iron Banner could also be affected by changes. Additionally, an alleged leak is circulating that hints at future changes in the Iron Banner.
Update April 4: We updated the information on Bungie’s statement with new details.
Leak also hints at changes in the Iron Banner
What is this leak about? This leak was posted publicly on the page “pastebin.com“. It revealed not only changes for the Iron Banner but also bullet-point information about all Witch Queen seasons leading up to the “Lightfall” expansion.
What does the leak say about the Iron Banner? Season 17 is said to be a Siva season, according to the Pastebin leak.
Lord Saladin (now Bracus Forge) will go back to the “Contaminated Lands” to fight against a threat from Splicers. Data from 2020 also revealed content from contaminated Siva constructs in Destiny 2.
In the meantime, he appoints Crow to represent him in leading the Iron Banner event and overseeing the Iron Temple. Furthermore, there are indications of a whole Iron Banner season.
Parallels to the end of the current Season 16: This fits well with the current information from Season 16, where Lord Saladin leaves his sword and his medallion for Crow in the H.E.L.M.
In the battle against the Splicers, Saladin will find an ancient Warmind node with the help of Ana Bray. This will help assemble Rasputin back in his Exo shell so that he is operational again.
Along with the change of the new Iron Banner vendor, the reputation in the Iron PvP mode will also be increased more quickly. For players who enjoy collecting seals, a new seal for the Iron Banner will be introduced. This will be called “Iron Lord” and will require the same effort as the titles “Conqueror” or “Flawless”.
What does Bungie say about it? Officially, Bungie has not commented on this massive leak. However, we at MeinMMO have contacted Bungie, and on April 4th, they responded to us. They do not wish to comment on the leak.
What do you think of the leak and the potential upcoming changes? Do you like such adjustments, or would you prefer new maps and sandbox adjustments that shake up the current meta? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
