Destiny 2 improves the exotic Aeon Cult glove trio for Season 13. There is a real novelty, as the armor exotic now gets its own mod slot and special modifications.
In Destiny 2, Season 13 is just around the corner, starting on February 9 with the new season. Accordingly, more and more details are now being revealed.
There were also some new details in the latest “This Week at Bungie” blog regarding the Season of the Chosen. This includes information on the overhaul of a nearly forgotten exotic trio.
This is the exotic in question: It is about the Aeon Cult gloves. This exotic armor piece was introduced with the first DLC “Curse of Osiris”(2017) and is represented in different appearances across all 3 Guardian classes:
- Aeon Swift for Hunters (in the title image)
- Aeon Safe for Titans
- Aeon Soul for Warlocks
The special feature of this trio: Other carriers of this exotic benefit from certain buffs when specific actions are performed.
- For Hunters, it is dodging
- For Titans, it is melee
- For Warlocks, it is throwing grenades
The Aeon Cult allies will receive grenade energy for Warlocks, melee energy for Titans, and dodging energy for Hunters. Other allies (who do not wear the exotic) receive a fraction of the shared energy.

However, these quite cool-looking gloves are practically unused by anyone and have always been considered by the community to be the worst armor exotic in all of Destiny 2. Because the effects hardly justify the use of the sought-after exotic slot.
But now it seems that Bungie wants to change that. The gloves will be overhauled for the upcoming Season 13. They will still promote teamwork, but it will be done differently now.
Own mod slot: Instead of a fixed perk, all 3 Aeon Cult gloves will have their own special mod slot that will be unlocked as soon as you receive this exotic.
Special exotic mods: In addition, there will be 3 special mods for these special mod slots. These will also be unlocked as soon as you obtain this exotic. The mods are identical for all classes and allow you to take on specific roles within the group – regardless of which class or focus you play.

Do the gloves finally pay off now? Only practice will truly show that. But with this new mechanic, the gloves could indeed come into play in certain activities like the Fireteam Nightfalls and prove to be helpful there – but rather only for coordinated teams.
