This was also rare. Destiny 2 is getting 2 updates in one month. We explain what’s in the patches and when the updates will arrive in October 2018.
This must be the work of the devil. As Bungie announced, there are two updates for Destiny 2 this month. We present the most important contents on MeinMMO in a clear manner.
The first update
When is it coming? Patch 2.0.4 is set to release on October 16.
What does it bring?
- First of all, the seasonal event “Festival of the Lost” is returning – here players are supposed to go on a hunt for a murderer
- There will be more drops than just “Rand-Transit” – “By Fire and Flood”, “Zenobia D”, and “Slate Reaper-4fr” will be added to the World pool
- Then you can read out from the map which Lost Sector is waiting for you on the map once you have looted it
- Players can track up to three different quests
- Scout rifles should become stronger in PvE
- and more bug fixes will come
What’s behind it: This seems to be a typical event update with some quality-of-life improvements. The question is how strongly the “Festival of the Lost” is tied to the cash shop.
In 2016, Guardians complained heavily about the strong coupling to the Eververse. In 2017, the event was completely absent.
The second update
When is it coming? The update 2.0.5 is set to release on October 30.
What’s included:
- The damage of swords and fusion rifles is increased in PvE
- The infraction will be stronger in PvE and Gambit
- A “bad luck protection” comes for the nightfall. If there wasn’t a unique drop in a run during the strike, the chance increases in the next one. This should make it easier for Guardians to hunt the unique nightfall rewards.
- Less “duplicate exotics” – higher chances for Forsaken exotics
- Faster deletion of individual shaders
- More masterwork cores
- and the nerf of the Sleeper Simulant is coming
What’s behind it: Here Bungie addresses some of the balance issues. And it seems they want to reduce the number of moments when Guardians hit the ground and lament their bad luck while cursing the Loot God.
