Today, a witch’s help is needed in Destiny 2 to find out if she can help them in the fight against the Witness. But before that, we need to alert you to a longer server downtime.
What you need to know today: The virtual battlefields in Destiny 2 will be shrouded in shadow for a longer period today to make room for the unveiling of something new. Season 22 is already waiting in the wings.
9:40 PM: Maintenance is officially over.
8:55 PM: The game is now running for everyone. We are already in the first mission. Bungie has, however, extended the maintenance to keep an eye on all possible bugs and quickly eliminate them.
7:30 PM: The data has been successfully downloaded. We are now waiting in line. The login services for Destiny 2 are still overloaded due to high traffic.
7:00 PM: The big showcase is over – here you can find a summary. Guardians are now waiting to get back into the game to explore Season 22. However, the services are still not available. The download is ready and is 12 GB on PC/Steam.
4:16 PM: Destiny 2 is going offline due to expected maintenance. Now we have to wait and we will keep you updated.
3:00 PM: Background maintenance is starting. Anyone who hasn’t picked up their engrams yet needs to hurry.
However, today’s server downtime is a bit different because Bungie will sweeten the downtime from 5:00 PM with a big showcase for “The Final Form”. You can find all information about it, the exact times, links, and Twitch Drops in this article: Destiny 2: Everything about the DLC “The Final Form” from 2024
While most of the details about the DLC “The Final Form” are still unknown, there is already more information about the Lightfall Season 22.
- Season 22 will offer another new story mission for the Lightfall DLC and seasonal activities.
- The structure of Season 22 will also be fundamentally changed, with optimized ritual playlists.
- An Exo mission rotator will be introduced, offering new craftable Exo weapons.
But that’s not all. We have summarized the remaining details about Season 22 in this list for you, so you know what to expect. You can also see the seasonal armor there.
But before you can play the new Season 22 and its challenges, the server downtime is imminent. We will tell you everything you need to know about the server downtime of Destiny 2.
Maintenance on 22.08. – All times for server down
These times are important today: Bungie has informed players via Twitter about the exact times. The planned downtime currently lasts 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Here is the exact schedule for the maintenance:
- At 3:00 PM, background maintenance will start on all platforms.
- At around 4:15 PM, the servers will go offline. Players will be automatically kicked from the game.
- During the downtime, Bungie will roll out the Season 22 Update 7.2.0.1. It will be gradually rolled out so that players on all platforms can download it.
- At 5:00 PM, Bungie will start the preshow, and at 6:00 PM, the showcase will officially begin. Anyone who watches for 30 minutes can also snag an emblem as a Twitch drop.
- The new Season 22 is expected to launch at 7:00 PM.
- The maintenance will continue until 8:00 PM, but only in the background.
Also, please note that third-party applications as well as the official companion app may also not be accessible correctly for a while, meaning you won’t be able to use them. We therefore recommend preparing the character with which you want to start in Season 22 before the downtime.
What’s changing with Update 7.2.0.1 in Season 22
This is what the Update 7.2.0.1 brings today: In addition to the content updates, the update will also include technical changes. Bungie will focus on identifying and fixing current stability issues with the 7.2 updates.
- Bungie will start internal “chaos tests” of the new code they have added in order to make further improvements and verify the current bug fixes planned for Season 22 and beyond.
Otherwise, the following issues are still on the targeted list of known problems:
- Due to a problem the loadouts function has been temporarily disabled. However, all existing loadouts will be saved and will be available again as soon as a fix can be provided.
- Certain honored centurions in the lost sector “Golden Command” are unusually bright.
- The shotgun “Windrose” is not displayed in the collections.
- The exotic shotgun “Lord of Wolves” has no hip-fire reticle.
- The hand cannon “Last Word” is missing the magazine, as some guardians are missing their ankles.
- There is a switch bug with weapons that causes sniper rifles to shoot like machine guns and fusion rifles to reload with sniper rifles.
- Player name changes are not endlessly customizable via bungie.net. Several “number guardians” continue to wait for the option to change their player name again instead of receiving the message “You have no name changes available”.
If you notice any other bugs in the game that are not listed here, feel free to let us know in our comment section.
Will be reset: Crucible, Vanguard, Trials, Gambit, Gunmaster, Clan
Stays: Strategy table, sonar station, Iron Banner, inventory
Unclear: Target vendor (Failsafe, Eris, etc.), Cryptarch Rahool, and Xur (Eternity)
If you have not yet fully cleared out the old season pass of Season 19, this can only be done until today at 4:15 PM via your profile on the Bungie website.
