5:15 PM: The servers of Destiny 2 are now offline for maintenance. However, there is already a new trailer for the Solstice 2023 for all waiting players.
Here’s what you need to know today: Sometimes the witness brings the knowledge, that you have long yearned for in Destiny 2. Sometimes you only catch carp. And sometimes you can’t play for a short time. Because Destiny 2 has announced update 7.1.0.5 and will take its servers offline for it.
Shortly before the start of the three-week Solstice event 2023, the servers will be unavailable, Bungie will fix some errors, and we will keep you updated on the status of the update.
In-game system for support messages: Destiny 2 communicates its information about server downtimes and especially important support messages mainly via Twitter. But there have now been changes here, so that unregistered users can no longer see tweets on the platform and must create an account.
MeinMMO keeps you updated, of course. But players have also asked Bungie whether an in-game message and update system would not be a better solution. The developer replied that they are looking for solutions.

Maintenance on 07/18 – All times for the server downtime
These times are important today: Today’s update will be released for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. According to current planning, the scheduled downtime is 1 hour and 45 minutes.

This is the exact schedule for today’s maintenance in Destiny 2:
- At 4:00 PM German time, maintenance work will begin in the background on all platforms.
- From 5:15 PM, the servers will go offline and players will be automatically kicked from all activities.
- The update 7.1.0.5 will be deployed during this time and then rolled out gradually.
- The expected login should then be possible around 7:00 PM, at the weekly reset.
- The ongoing background maintenance will end at 8:00 PM if everything goes according to plan.
Also, keep in mind that third-party applications as well as the official companion app may also not be correctly accessible for a while, so you may not be able to use them.
What changes with update 7.1.0.5 in season 21
What the hotfix today brings: Bungie is still working on some known issues that have been reported. We provide an overview of the current status of the list.
- The mod “Universal Kickstart” is currently disabled across the game due to a bug in PvP.

- The resilience statistic determines the damage resistance of the previous tier when it is a multiple of 10. A resilience of 100 provides the intended benefit appropriately.
- Player name changes are not infinitely customizable via bungie.net. Several “number guardians” are still waiting for the option to be able to change their player names again instead of receiving the message “You have no name changes available”.
