The support team at Bungie continues to work on addressing feedback and bringing the servers of the loot shooter back into the right orbit. Here’s what you need to know today: There were problems with matchmaking in Destiny 2 last week. The error codes also increased. Last night there was an unexpected emergency maintenance, which was however brief.
But one thing you can’t accuse the developer of: Long response times. Shortly after the problem occurred, the support team reached out and investigated the error codes to provide a solution afterwards.
Let’s hope that players are spared from emergency maintenance today, as Bungie is officially only planning the routine update with the version number 7.1.0.3.
7:20 PM: We are attempting to log in. Small queue due to network traffic from the increased login rates of players. Destiny is running again. Weekly reset follows.
7:10 PM: The update is now rolling out to all platforms with slight delays. So for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. The file size for PC is 245 MB.
7:00 PM: The patch notes are already available. We will link them for you further down in this article. Small preview: There are improved matchmaking times at higher skill levels.
The announcement that the servers are coming back online is still pending.
5:14 PM: Bungie reports: Servers successfully shut down. Now it’s a waiting game. You will find out how long further down, at the planned downtime for today.

Maintenance on June 27 – All times for server down
These times are important today: All support reports from Bungie are collected on Twitter. There, the developer also announced the latest update for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC and posted the exact downtime. According to the current planning, you will not be able to play for 1 hour and 45 minutes today.
However, these downtimes can still change, as Destiny 2 tends to have a mind of its own. But don’t worry, MeinMMO will accompany the update as usual and regularly update this article with the latest information from Bungie support.
This is the exact schedule for today’s maintenance in Destiny 2:
- At 4:00 PM German time, maintenance work will begin in the background on all platforms.
- From 5:15 PM, the servers will go offline, and players will be automatically kicked from all activities.
- Update 7.1.0.3 will be deployed during this time and then rolled out gradually.
- The expected login should be possible again around 7:00 PM, at the Weekly reset.
- The ongoing background maintenance ends at 8:00 PM if everything goes as planned.
Also, keep in mind that third-party applications as well as the official companion app may also not be accessible correctly for a while, making them unusable.
What changes with update 7.1.0.3 in season 21
What the hotfix brings today: Bungie is still working on some known issues that have been reported. Here we give you an overview and say what this list currently includes.
- Bungie is investigating performance issues when loading the “Eververse / Store” tab.
- In Gambit, particle vacuums are on the loose, sucking up things they shouldn’t.
- The seasonal challenge “Combat Rhythm” incorrectly shows guardians defeating targets all over the system. However, this challenge can only be successfully completed in Crucible, Gambit, or Vanguard Ops playlists.
- The weapons have gotten mixed up. For example, the Crucible loot quest “Strand Butcher” shows no progress for Strand primary weapon kills.
- Attention Guardians! You can die from finishers if the enemy dies before the finisher animation is completed.
- Progress in the seasonal challenge “Efficient Angler” is not consistent.
- In the competitive Crucible placement series, the sniper rifle “Bouncing Range” is not dropping.
- The exotic titan helmet of the 14th Saint is not functioning as intended.
- Guardians can get stuck outside the boss arena after self-reviving in the dungeon “Ghosts of the Deep”.
- The solar explosion of the exotic titan head “Khepri’s Horn” now does less damage when used.
- Some players cannot submit commendations. You can currently only fix this by entering a raid and then returning to orbit until a permanent solution can be released.
- The resilience value provides damage resistance from the previous tier when it is a multiple of 10. 100 resilience correctly offers the intended benefit.
- Bungie is investigating an increase in crashes on Xbox and PlayStation 5 consoles. PC players are stable.
- Using the exotic warlock gloves “Flee Artist” to refresh the sentient Arc Soul before it is fully deactivated causes the fire rate of the soul to drop until it is fully deactivated.
- After focusing an adept Trials weapon of the 14th Saint, it is not displayed that the original requirement of having a 7-win Trials card is still present for subsequent focusings.
- Spending recovery keys after a legends recovery activity does not count toward the Triumph “Spend Recovery Keys”.
- Player name changes are not infinitely customizable via bungie.net. Multiple “Number Guardians” are still waiting for the option to change their player names again, rather than receiving the message “You have no name changes available”.
