Today, Destiny 2 announced a short-term maintenance – without warning. Players were caught off guard. It is also expected to last several hours. MeinMMO will keep you informed about what is happening.
19:50: Destiny 2 is back online. The login may still take a little while, but afterwards you can throw yourself back into your familiar Guardian outfit. Have fun.
19:30: The new update is currently being rolled out with a moderate delay. You should see a download soon. On PC, the maintenance update is 204.1 MB in size. However, Bungie also shared that clan features may be offline until maintenance is complete.
19:00: The servers are still not back. Players can log in but always end up on an error screen. It seems to take a while before everything normalizes and you can get into the game. In the meantime, feel free to read the new patch notes that we link at the end of this article.
17:15: The servers have just gone offline. Destiny 2 will not be available in the coming hours. You will find the exact times, as always, further down.
What you need to know today: There was actually no downtime for Destiny 2 planned today. However, Bungie announced a maintenance downtime in the game. This took many guardians by surprise and left them questioning. Because there was initially little information or time from Bungie.
- On Twitter, the developer only shared the information that a maintenance for update 7.1.0.1 will go offline.
- And even in the game, the surprised guardians only received the message that Destiny 2 would “soon” shut down its servers and would thus be removed from all activities shortly.
MeinMMO will keep you updated in this article about the short-term maintenance and what Bungie continues to share.
Maintenance on 01.06. – All times for server down
These times are important today: Since the maintenance was very short-term, Bungie did not share more detailed advance information about the outages several hours earlier, as usual. These were only added at the start of the maintenance on Bungie’s page for server maintenance and updates.
That the servers are now going offline seems to have been urgent, as the announcement came today surprisingly and quickly.
Here’s the exact schedule for the maintenance:
- At 16:00 German time, the maintenance work started in the background on all platforms.
- At 17:15 the servers go offline and players are automatically kicked from all activities.
- The update 7.1.0.1 will be rolled out during this time on all platforms and can be downloaded.
- The expected login should then be possible again around 19:00.
- The ongoing background maintenance will end at 20:00, if everything goes smoothly.
Also, keep in mind that third-party applications and the official companion app may also be unexpectedly unavailable for a while, meaning you cannot use them.
What changes with update 7.1.0.1 in season 21
Which problems Bungie wants to address in the game with the maintenance are also unclear. Just a few days ago, they shared the information that they are investigating an issue that prevents players from equipping the new Twitch emblem for Destiny 2.
Additionally, only the already known errors are on the list:
- Players had no desire for lengthy mechanics and downed the boss in the new dungeon using cheese.
- The Anarchy drops giant bombs when shot at in the new dungeon.
- The text chat in the game for clans no longer works and there are also problems with clans in Destiny 2. Sometimes you were completely clanless.
- The Warlock exotic “Evening Prayer from Radius” is disabled in the new dungeon “Spirits of the Depths”.
- The names of the artifact mods “Electric Armor” and “Pimped” are swapped.
- The blinding effect of the shotgun “Until Return” is decoupled from the weapon.
- The automatic rifle “Dark Decision” fires without sound.
- Previous season ranks greater than 100 are not displayed correctly in the travel menu.
- When equipping a pistol or hand cannon, the player view shifts slightly to the left.
- The portal in the H.E.L.M. does not open for players during the quest “Into the Depths”.
- There may be noticeable frame rate drops when calling the Everversum store pages.
- The clan stick from season 19 has the wrong title.
