What Changes with Update 3.4.0 in Season 15
This is what the new update brings: Bungie has already revealed a lot about the changes, adjustments, and especially the new activities in the past weeks.
Here are the most important details that were announced in advance:
- Destiny 2 is releasing its big “30th Anniversary Bungie pack” to celebrate with players.
- It includes the new, free activity “Trials of Eternity” for 6 players (with matchmaking).
- The dungeon “Sog der Habsucht” and the cosmetics for the event are, however, paid and thus exclusive only for pack owners. This also includes the availability of the iconic rocket launcher Gjallarhorn.
- The pack apparently also includes Halo-inspired weapons. Images from the activity showed firearms similar to the MA40 assault rifle and the purple battle rifle from Halo. Whether this was all there is to the Halo crossover remains to be seen.
- Furthermore, players can expect the biggest balance patch of all time. This means massive changes to ability cooldowns, a stronger focus on gunplay, and a clear distinction between PvP and PvE. New information about timers for grenades and melee, which Bungie has not yet addressed, is also expected in today’s patch.
- There will be nerfs and buffs for weapons, including the nerf for the raid exotic Vex Mythoclast.
- As part of the more creative build crafting, the new quality-of-life changes will make many things easier in the future. The glimmer costs for mods will cease to exist starting tonight, and it will also become easier to keep track of exotic ornaments.
- Additionally, the update may contain further innovations that have not yet been announced.
Here are more important changes regarding known issues:
- In the strike “The Corrupted”, many bugs have been addressed. For example, the number of enemies was reduced and portal bugs have been fixed, which were especially an issue in the leaderboard.
- The weapons from the Dreaming City now appear more frequently after completing the Blind Source.
- On the PvP map “Rustlands”, some rendering errors have been fixed which caused dynamic objects not to be displayed.
- If you missed in-game chat messages, you can bring back this text chat display by accessing the navigation mode. This way, you can finally read what your PC fireteam members have been chatting about.
- And further fixes for some of the most annoying issues.
Patch Notes for Update 3.4.0 in Destiny 2
What’s in the patch notes? The comprehensive list of all changes from update 3.4.0 will be published by Bungie in the form of patch notes.
Traditionally, the information is released along with the update itself. However, Bungie wanted to try to provide the patch notes earlier due to the numerous changes.
Now it’s your opinion that matters. Are you ready to explore the mysterious loot cave? What are you most looking forward to after the update? Do you think the Gjallarhorn will live up to its reputation as a top-tier weapon? Which new feature will keep players most engaged?
